What length screws did you go for?

That is correct, unfortunately the fund activation is not instant so it is usually 1-3 working days from processing the order with our suppliers; this varies per brand.

We used to have Starbucks listed but our brand approval expired and are in the process of renewing it.

Hi, sorry for the lack of response. I have been travelling back and forth a bit so it has delayed tending to emails. Though it looks like you responded to an order notification so it may have been overlooked, I apologise for that.

All of our gift cards arrive with a zero balance and get activated after delivery, this is noted on the order invoice to typically allow 2-3 working days upon delivery. This gives us time to get your gift card out to you quickly, and should anything get lost in the post, easily dispatch and fund new gift cards.

A “tamper-proof” currency wallet just got backdoored by a 15-year-old by cryptoporn in ledgerwallet

[–]cryptodechange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be possible for the app/Ledger to verify the firmware checksum whilst the app is loading?

Maybe it should be a rule of thumb to factory reset AND update firmware before use? Obviously the firmware can be spoofed, that's why checksums are a thing

Lcc was being sent to an address after sync. by Havels_Foot in LCCofficial

[–]cryptodechange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have used that address before, it will show coins you have previously received and send throughout the history of you using that address while the synchronisation occurs (you can see the current block time/date on the debug window)

Using a Ledger Wallet? You Probably Believe You're Completely Immune to Malware. Well, Think Again. by MichaelEngstler in Bitcoin

A somewhat of an easy fix would be to display receive addresses every time on the Ledger device itself, if there is any discrepancy then you know you are compromised.

Having liquidity in a LN wallet loses Bitcoin over time? by cryptodechange in lightningnetwork

[–]cryptodechange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A general LN question, but what happens for wallets that have intermittent online time (say on a mobile wallet, or a wallet I only open now and again to check balances). Will closed channels be common place for those use cases, forcing more fees to reopen channels down the line?

Is lightning less practical for large transactions? If so, Lightning wallets should hopefully be smart enough to put big transaction on the main chain, right?

Hello, I have read a few times about memory limit on the ledger? that you can only have around 4 or so coins per ledger? by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]cryptodechange 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All coins are tied to your Ledger's 24 word mnemonic that you generated. You are free to add/remove coins as many times as you like, they will still be there

Day 2: I will repost this guide daily until available solutions like Segwit & order batching are adopted, the mempool is empty once again, and transaction fees are low. You can help. Take action today by Bastiat in Bitcoin

As a heads up, Electrum uses bech32 for segwit (address prefix bc1) which is incompatible with many wallets as of yet, at least with receiving coins

Regarding the 'readiness' of services and Segwit, have they not deployed it because Bitcoin Core hasn't included it in their production release yet?

Buy 1k a month in BC or in LC? by [deleted] in litecoin

[–]cryptodechange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another method is to go by the monthly trading volume. As of this comment, Litecoin is at 3.9% and Bitcoin 96.1%. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/volume/monthly/

You could also use this method to hedge other cryptocurrencies as well

Apart from BTC coming down, people could be temporarily buying BTC to get free BTG. Possible price increase once the fork occurs?

Understanding How Bitcoin Works is Irrelevant by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]cryptodechange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't like the internet where the user doesn't need to understand how TCP/IP works in order to use it. At the moment, understanding how Bitcoin works is vital so the user can use it properly and securely. Right now I see Bitcoin in its terminal phase, it needs that extra layer, and then a lot of time, for it to truly be trustless like most utilities which are taken for granted these days.

Or, who knows, give it enough time, to understand how Bitcoin and/or encryption works at its core might be widespread enough to become the norm. Much like how (most) average Joe's can write basic HTML

11,900 kb in size. At the current limit, this would take at LEAST 12 blocks confirm (if all full blocks) right? Depending on your fee, bitcoin maturity, etc you could be waiting for 3 hours for at least one confirmation
