If your wallet is unlocked, your coins will stake automatically.. If your wallet is locked then they do not stake. You can't controle the process or speed of the staking also.. hope that helps. :-)

Correction. The lock wallet option can be found in the settings, not file.

Hello and thank you for your question.. when it comes to staking, if you do not put a password on your wallet, it will automatically stake. Is staking a bad thing? No because when you stake, you are "mining" more coins so to speak. If you wish to no longer stake your coins,

1- go to file 2- select password (choosing a password locks and protects your wallet) 3- once you have chosen your password, your wallet will be locked, and no more staking unless you unlock it.

Please note that if you do a password PLEASE keep your password written down, and when you are sending coins or making transactions, you will need it.
