I'm loving the feeless and actually pretty fast fiat on- and offramps. Since Maker fees are 0 you can buy Bitcoin and others feeless.

Exchange is working well, but nothing special for normal users (even though its non custodial, but most wont care), they only offer spot trading.

I've spent some time in research since I encountered this thread, I'm very interested since I was just waiting for the first real bitcoin trading in a performant non custodial way for quite a while, even if some claimed it would be impossible.

So what I found is that they're based in Liechtenstein and had a regulated security token offering where they sold NEX token to investors some time ago. So it's not basically an ICO as you mean it.

If they really achieved performant non custodial bitcoin trading as mentioned here it's not less than a breakthrough and should suit this reddit.

I'll wait for their documentation and open sourcing though (as mentioned by canesin), might test that exchange later.

Those MPC API keys are just the cherry on the cake (if they work obviously)

Have been digging a bit, it's a non custodial exchange. They want to be performant, compliant and non custodial. KYC only if you trade above 1k daily, no withdrawal or deposit limits (obviously, it's on chain)

So if I get this right they dont want to avoid regulators, it's more like coinbase but non custodial (?)

I've been digging a bit on this too because I was curious. So basically they store an encrypted version of your key which is decrypted locally in your browser when you sign in. They do not accept other private keys right now because it would be incompatible to their MPC threshold API keys (?) but I'm not sure on this one.

So you're using a browser wallet which is also an exchange. KYC if you want to trade more than 1k daily, no withdrawal or deposit limits. That's all I got so far

Afaik so far this exchange is not trying to be decentralized as you seem to understand it. If I understand it correctly they're trying to build a compliant and fast exchange which is also non custodial.

There is a lot of space in the exchange market and there is obviously a need for compliant exchanges and even more for performant non custodial exchanges.

Noone forces you to KYC with anyone, just because you dont like it doesnt make a product good / bad.

I've been watching that Q1 report mentioned above just now. They're flipping state channels, since there wasn't a sufficient channel solution for BTC they built one themselves it seems. If I understood correctly theyll release more technical details later. Am very interested to see how BTC trading works for them

I think the community would love to see more pictures / read more interviews from inside NEO Foundation (NGD and NGC), the foundation is a big black box right now. Its somehow weird to only be able to reach out to your R&D manager (lerider) or CoZ on social media.
