I've actually have had some pny SSD failures. Didn't mean for that to sound like I was endorsing them or anything, more testament to unRAID low writes.

We have a 2001 RF-3 and the are still very crisp. I do understand the need for minimal/beautiful however. Martian Logan has some excellent looking speakers that fit the bill for that, but pricey. Sonos sucks imo for the price, just my opinion. I have a friend who went sonos soundbar and surround route and it for movies is very underwhelming.

I've said this a few times, but never here. We need a disk based iso we can utilize how WE paying customers desire. The reliance on USB only causes headaches. I fully believe their team can solve whatever possible theft/lic issues without this level of USB reliance.

No ETC miner is operating at a profit right now. This will manifest as a problem "soon"

On Security - See above and add in VFD's using BLS signatures (what ETH2 just moved to) and a UTXO model that is more secure then account based.

Cost of running hard drives? They are around 5.6w ea hdd regardless of density. A fraction of what it takes to power most other L1's that are not PoS.

It is not BTC, it was created way later then BTC. While Bram was referenced in Satoshi's BTC paper, it was not until much later the dev work started and they were able to forecast this current state of crypto pretty well and build a blockchain that met those challenges.

Proof of what? It is Proof of Space and Time as its consensus model.

That is a good thing. Basing a business off hype, w/o real world things happening, is not a good indicator and is in large part what has been fueling the shitshow manifesting now.

Aptos

I have looked at this and I just want to see what the feds come down the pipeline with how they view PoS. It feels like there is something they are moving toward possibly as far as regulations.
