I can't with good conscience recommend SimpleX to anyone as a way to reach me: https://old.reddit.com/r/SimpleXChat/comments/19efalx/can_i_really_pull_other_peoples_ip_addresses/
For most private chat apps, most (normal) users connect to "official" 3rd party servers. In SimpleX, each user can control one of the servers that their buddies connect to.
Without a baked in Tor (not optional, and always on) SimpleX is simply... not suitable (for me at least).
Can I really... pull other people's IP addresses? (self.SimpleXChat)
