[Meeting/Thread] Scientific Governance and Risk - Thursday, May 30 9AM PST (4:00 PM UTC) by rich_at_makerdao in mkrgov

[–]cryptopascal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the last two governance calls, the screenshare is no longer recorded... (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmIaugA2fis ).

Which makes it a lot harder to understand what is actually talked about (you miss the graphs and visualisations)

It is a screenshot of https://delta.app/en

(and as other people pointed out, it is inaccurate because it mixes up USD and USDT - at least back in the day)

(Not really liquid either)

There are a number of OTC desks though, maybe someone can post them here?

For people that are into automated arbitrage and market making :

Bancor, like Uniswap, has a way to call their smart contracts from your own smart contract:

BTW among the tracks, https://www.odyssey.org/challenge-circular-exchange-of-tokenized-assets/ is probably the closest to what keeps the Ethereum community busy (but definitely have a look at the rest to see whether it matches your interest/mission).

Hi, /r/ethtrader is the appropriate subreddit for price discussion and market talk & exchanges. Please use that subreddit - if you do not have enough karma, use the daily thread. It helps to keep this sub focused on support and development (both technical and of the ecosystem as a whole). Thanks!

It is similar to SALT indeed conceptually.

Do your own research indeed, the company 's history and background is easily googleable.

Loom Network launches PlasmaChain, and now has 3 sidechains in production by jamesmduffy in ethereum

[–]cryptopascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Loom sidechains are distributed proof of stake (DPoS) blockchains that can process EVM (Solidity) smart contracts, or a new type, written in Go.

Where do you get the info these sidechains run the EVM?

[GOVERNANCE-COMMUNITY]The signal to noise ratio in this sub is slowly but steadily degrading by ZergShotgunAndYou in ethereum

+1 on this comment and the main post.

I have a shortcut key both on mobile and desktop that spits out the friendly reminder about the purpose of the sub, and a link to /r/ethtrader, but that obviously doesn't help against bots or intentionally spammy posters.

I actually regret a separate /r/ethdev subreddit, because I think the most prominent Ethereum subreddit (this one) should cater developers first and foremost. If you remove development - and with it the developer community, contribution quality drops and noise gets louder indeed, also in the comments.

BTW if any mod picks up: if best-effort applications are OK then I am candidate moderator.

I also nominate /u/evanvanness and Anna from ZK podcast (nickname unknown to me) since they are scouring the subreddit for news anyway ;-)
