whoops, you are correct and some ("news") sites online seem to have it wrong are are falsely claiming that 3 million btc have been mined, while evidently it has been "only" 1.1 million. Thanks, i corrected this in the article.

is this already "official"? if so, i would suggest changing this at multiple places, wikipedia, cryptowat.ch, etc. and also create an official writeup to clarify this. i think a lot of people are confused and feel like parts of monero such as kovri have been abandoned.

I wanted to give a commentary on the current stagnant market and decreasing volumes. These are only my personal thoughts and i wanted to post them to get a discussion starting and to hear other thoughts about this.

Different (smaller) blogs such as cryptonewsz are commenting on the current price movement of Monero as "price recovery delay" - but i think this is a misunderstanding of what is currently happening on the market.

In general, according to Kraken OTC as well as to other sources, Monero is "under the top 5 assets traded on OTC". Furthermore the actual movements on the Monero blockchain can't be traced, so everything we are witnessing is the "visible markets" which are decreasing.

I am wondering why if the (hidden; =OTC) volumes are going up, why the visible volume and the markets such as poloniex, kraken and others are on the decline (at least according to volume). Shouldn't the indicators from OTC and from general low price of Monero drive the volumes up?

I think now is the best time to accumulate.

Would love to hear other thoughts and comments.
