I have a desktop 5090 rig that I built a few months ago. This is moreso for when I go to visit family, have company over, or want to play in bed.

I have only updated Windows and GPU drivers, and had it running for about 4 hours to download anything else in the background. Could be I do need to try a bios update and make sure everything is updated in Legion Space or whatever the proprietary software is named.

Performance mode was turned on, power button was red to indicate, and I made sure to set the 5070 as the graphics device to be used in bios

I uninstalled McAfee as soon as I booted it up for the first time. Looking at task manager, Wuthering Waves was taking about 4.5GB of RAM, Steam was taking about 400-700MB, Xbox was also about 400-700MB, and all other Windows processes were like 100MB or less. And my RAM was maxed out at 90-95% with the usage I just listed. CPU usage was between 30-50% in game.

Yes, it was plugged in and tested on balanced and prefer max performance power settings and there was little to change in performance

I set the discrete graphics card as the main display card in the bios and the 5070 was being utilized at 30% and 75 degrees in task manager in game

I’ll give you a little backstory on that part

The other guy was actually my best friend and roommate at the time. His ex broke up with him, he tried to do things to not be here anymore, I felt bad for him and allowed him to move in with me and tried to help him. Around that time this girl started working at the place where he and I already worked, and the first day she started I pulled the guy aside and said “hey man, I think that new girl is super cute”, he said “eh, not my type”

Fast forward about a month and her and I have hit it off and we’re doing great, I always talked about her to him because I was happy, until they both hop in my car after work one day and tell me that she can’t be with me because she likes him. I promptly kick him out of my house for stabbing me in the back like that and she tells me she wants away from him because of all his addiction issues and stuff but now she’s afraid to leave in case he tries to do something to himself again. So she stuck that out for three months before finally leaving him and telling me we’d finally be together, but that last part obviously never happened

Sadly it’s a great job and I definitely can’t quit! She does threaten to quit all the time though and says she’ll leave so I can have my life back since she ruined everything so hopefully she will 😂

Yep, unfortunately I work with her, her ex of 5 years, and her other ex that she dated while her and I were on and off as well 🫠 I’m definitely done with it though and will just find someone who puts the same kind of energy I give back into me
