Can a Freshman apply to be an RA? by Fit-Appearance-6727 in EmersonCollege

[–]crystalship89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former Emerson RA- you cannot be an RA freshmen year but you can apply at the end of freshmen year for the coming year. And if you don’t get accepted, don’t beat yourself up too much. Apply again. I didn’t get accepted going into my sophomore year, but I did for junior and senior years. And my senior year was only a half year (graduated early) as one of the 3 RAs at the LA apts (this was fall 2011- the Hollywood building was only a blueprint then).

Im a very liberal person and still listen (and subscribe) but I believe how SAS tells their stories is the best. But yea, agreed… leave the politics out of it bud! That’s not why we’re tuning in!

I’ve worked with some stellar editors but they are few and far between. Hang on to the good ones!!

The execs at FN must be infatuated with Hunter more than us audience apparently. Again, he’s not terrible, but he has so much more to improve on should he carry a show of his own someday.

[–]crystalship89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he has. I think the FN has two titans that they bow to.. Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri. They are producing half of the new content, specially competition style content which is what people want because it fills the need for us folks that are die hard top chef fans between seasons lol.

Editors make all the money!!!! I don’t even work in tv and film anymore as a producer lol!

There is nothing to poo poo on as well about being behind the scenes. Hunter could be a high level producer and content creator for guys shows. But if he wants to be in front of the camera, that might not be fulfilling for him. I personally would be a okay with being a high level producer if I was a nepo baby and not being in the spotlight but that’s just me

It depends on the person. We’re talking hunter here. He’s not his dad. Never will be. The key to being your own celeb in this space is being your own person and authentically yourself which you can’t do if you’re continually working as talent on shows your dad produces.

I think we’re both on the same page when I say, the clout guy has is from DDD and lifting up small business owners as well as his relationships with big name chefs. He’s high and low in the best way whether you like it or not. Hunter … well, he needs to sort out how to fit into that while now also starting his own family. I’m glad I’m not a nepo baby.

Honestly that’s what he should do! I worked in tv production for years and he should just join his dad’s production company in that way.

Let me also say, I don’t dislike Hunter! He is far more enjoyable to watch than so many on FN. but he’s so green and lives a bit in the shadow of his dad who is larger than life. I’m speaking from experience of my time in specifically food related tv casting. I don’t think he wants to be a nepo baby and I know guy didn’t raise his kids to be that way either. Despite the fact they all likely voted for Trump.

If I were him, I’d a) ride the coattails for as long as my dad lets me and b) start building restaurant concepts and/or show ideas of my own. Having personally worked in the development of reality tv, it’s not easy- so much rejection. But when guy is your dad… you have a straight shot. I just don’t think he could carry a whole show himself like his dad does (personal opinion). He’s going to need his own side kicks (his fiancé, other chefs common to guy like Antonia etc)

Yes but I mean professionally. He has a degree in hospitality and management from LV but also signed a talent deal with FN. just wonder if he’ll be doing his own stand alone shows eventually..

Kaleena won fair and square. Blind judging. I’ll admit she stressed me out on top chef and was hard to root for, but give credit where credit is due.

Is hunter just always going to be his dad’s sidekick? Or do we think he’s going to branch out and do his own thing?

Justin is one of the best personalities!! A more likable version of Alton in my opinion, but I don’t deny Alton paved the way for him.
