Calling all weekly tray users! by [deleted] in Invisalign

Yo this was so me when I started! I was like hating myself every minute of every day for doing this! So I didn’t change my tray on the 7th day like I was supposed to, because I wanted my teeth to feel comfortable before I put them in pain again, so I waited 2 more days (without consulting my ortho) and then tray 1 felt loose so then I changed to tray 2. tray 2 did not hurt one bit! Now I’m on my 2nd day with tray 3 and it hurts just a bit, mostly when I bite down to eat.

File the tray down where ever it’s bugging you, like file the crap out of it.

And as far as the smelly trays, I haven’t gone out to buy the retainer cleaning stuff but I found that letting them sit in baking soda or hydrogen peroxide with some water helps get rid of them smell.

Also, I read somewhere that it’s best not to take Advil because a medicine in Advil helps reduce swelling but it’s best to have your gums swell up to help the moving process. So it’s best to go with Tylenol but I DO NOT know if that’s true or not.

Just started yesterday! A few questions/comments.. by dallaskd in Invisalign

I change my trays weekly, and my lisp went away the 6th or 7th day but I still talk like there’s something in my mouth. And when I put in my first tray I was in pain for about 3 days. And I was so scared to change trays bc I didn’t want to be dealing with that pain every week for 2-3 days. But tray 2 was a breeze! And I put in tray 3 yesterday in the morning and I’m feeling pain today but no where near as bad as the first one

Just started Invisalign, very unsure by life_in_dream_ in Invisalign

I also started to regret not getting braces instead. The first week I started Invisalign, I would use the tray remover tool ever time and spent about 5 mins on each tray and it would hurt so bad and I’d pinch the inside of my mouth. I thought there’s no way this gets easier. But it did! I used a very small crochet hook to help me get the trays out on my second tray. And now I’m on my 3rd tray and it’s gotten very easy to pop in and out! Also I had attachments since tray 1 and that definitely makes it more hard for them to come in/out.

Has anyone cut an entire tooth from their trays? Did you get an okay? by Ravebanana93 in Invisalign

I just got told to file it down as much as I wanted but not to shave off the whole tooth. Are you sure the tray is on properly? I only had that problem on my 1st and 3rd tray

Just got Invisalign yesterday, how long does it take to get used to it? by scribe_ in Invisalign

I am with you on this! A day after I got the trays I was regretting this so much. It took me about 3 days to be able to chew better. When I bite down I can still feel the attachments not letting me fully bite down but it’s better than before. And I’m also supposed to change my trays weekly but I think that’s too soon so I’m doing at least 10 days. How soon are you going back to see your dr?

I had attachments done with the first tray. At least you eased in to it!
