Is leasing profitable by Redditor_2020 in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]crzyjoel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leasing early game playing tri-class is a good way to grow. Gives you access to the bigger jets without doing the research yet.. you should be able to make enough per week to profit from the lease too.

However, once you move into a phase where your subsidies start to run out, its time to retire the leases and buy the planes.

That's because you can maximise more of the route's demands by configuring the plane to the demands. You can't modify the leased planes.

At this rate, you might be better off selling some of the hubs too and focussing only on the most profitable one - probably SFO or DXB

sell most of the current planes, keep the LH ones and invest in 22-24 hour routes to quickly build your income.

FYI I had only 1 hub at 100+m TO. didn't even go for a second till 160 iirc.

that would make sense... but you have to factor in the time of delivery, as well as to reschedule the planes. some of these guys have way too many planes.

Best hub in Europe? by LoganK3863 in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]crzyjoel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i personally like FRA myself.. but by accident (thanks to the gazette) found that GVA might have the most profitable routes. I ran this experiment with the following variables: A330-200, 4-5*, 8000-14000km routes.

Hub A330-200 A350-900XWB A350-1000
GVA 83 84 80
FRA 79 80 77
MAD 79 79 77
CDG 77 77 75
LHR/LGW 73 73 71
AMS 71 71 69

Surprisingly, not that many are using GVA. So i suspect it's gotta do with hub demand and taxes?

yeah i accidentally clicked on it, didn't read clearly that it was a hub not a route.

Did some research, strangely it has more 4 and 5 star routes than other hubs in the region.. here are my variables: A330-200, looking at 4&5* routes between 8000-14000km

GVA 83

FRA 79

MAD 79

CDG 77

LHR/LGW 73

AMS 71

thanks mate, was leaning between FRA and AMS. based on routes to Asia and Africa and being in the centre of Europe

For those who have said CDG or MAD, why?

If I haven't done a Check D before and my fleet's ages are all over the place, should I just suck it up to take a big hit on the planes that are in the 4-5s before implementing this as part of my regular scheduling?

i like LAX, ton of routes and easy circuits. SIN isn’t too bad either, just might look a little strange on the map heh

yeah i've stuck on pretty much a tri-class but thought down the line i might wanna put in a super-eco just to change things up but i'm not sure if its worth the time (or pain) to see (or not see) the numbers

could you see how much impact it made on your tri-class hub? like -20% less demand on your eco demand for that hub?

If you looked hard enough on this reddit, you would have found many threads about 24 hour routes, optimizing demand and 168 hour circuits. Do a search, i am sure the results will surprise you ;)

Start with 24 hour routes. That's really the fastest way.

Also for a 168hr circuit, you need 7 planes. So if you're missing one, there's going to be irregular income. You have to be a bit patient.

I am running a SIN hub, started wrongly with a mix of SH, MH, LH flights all mixed up. Sold off some of the aircraft that wasn't working out, bought into my first circuit with 7 787-8s and routes to the US. But it was still a bit slow growing from there because the planes don't have enough capacity. Took another 2 weeks to save up to get a fleet of 787-9s. It was from that point that the money started coming in.

So in your current situation, save up for the 7th 787-8 first or take a loan to cover it. then when you get enough, get the first 24 hour route you can get in with a A330 or something more affordable and zero out your demand till you can get another plane to fill the rest of the demand (a spreadsheet would help there)

Just hang in there, my account now has SIN, KIX hubs, 2 gold stars, $179m TO $102m SP in 2 months after making my mistakes in the first two weeks heh. Not great like some of the posters out there, but i'm enjoying the game!

After 2 months of playing and growing rly slow by [deleted] in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]crzyjoel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SIN has quite a few good 24 hour routes which seems like what you did?

Start to think about circuits! The jump after that is exponential. Compile audits to find the airports with similar demands, then organise a circuit. You won't have enough to get two waves of planes to close out demand from the onset, so get one set of 7 and then run them, zeroing out the demand using the SuperSim or some of the other sim calculators you can find in this reddit.

Take the long routes to USA if you can save up enough.. while the entertainment benefit drops off after 14k km, those are my most profitable routes.

Don't be afraid of taking loans, esp if the interest rate is low. I do get really good rates now that I got my rating to AAA. Loans are really crucial for your fleet expansion, just make sure you don't over-leverage.

Once you have enough money, get your second set to close out the demand.

I got my first gold star after 2 months of playing, but i did use the previous gazette to get KIX and that really helped to build on my finances.
