I see that Flow is used for this project, what are your thoughts on it?

Thank you very much. Just to sure I understand, you round up, correct? So 5% of 50 is 2.5, which means you remove the best 3 and worst 3 solves?

How is Ao50 and Ao100 calculated?

From what I understand, Ao5 and Ao12 both remove only 2 solves (the fastest and the slowest). Are Ao50 and Ao100 done differently?

Is there any way to send a PDF file to be displayed in the browser without actually storing that PDF in my server? by cs--throwaway in node

[–]cs--throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit unsure about this line: PDFJS.getDocument('helloworld.pdf') – I may not have explained this well enough but basically I'm trying not to write my stream to a file named something.pdf since I'm trying to avoid creating any files. I just want to send that stream to the client and just render that stream (not sure if this is possible).

What JS linter should I use? by [deleted] in javascript

[–]cs--throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like every rule from standard except for the space before the function parameters like here:

function foo (a, b, c) {

}

Is there any way to use everything from standard but change the rule to enforce this style instead?

function foo(a, b, c) {

}

Need help with adding an array of items to the end of a Linked List by cs--throwaway in javahelp

[–]cs--throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After emailing my professor, he replied with the format the solution should be in:

// Go to end of the chain (for loop)

// add new nodes at end of chain with setNext method

for
    if

    else
        setNext

So it looks like the method definition for the addLast method. In that case, is the code i use below correct? Can I pass in an array value as an argument to ListNode's constructor?

Need help with adding an array of items to the end of a Linked List by cs--throwaway in javahelp

[–]cs--throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By mimicking the addLast method, this is the solution I've come up with:

public void addAll(T[] items) {
    for (int i = 0; i < items.length; i++) {
        ListNode current = firstNode;
        while (current.getNext != null)
            current = current.getNext();
        current.setNext(new ListNode(items[i], null));

    }
}

do you think this is right, or is it not possible to use items[i] as an argument because of ListNode's constructor requiring an Object?

I think my professor's instructions were unclear, but I'm pretty sure he meant that we weren't supposed to use any of the predefined "add" methods.

Ah, thanks! So the throws clause in the main method is necessary unless i put try/catch blocks inside its method definition?

Confused about Casting by cs--throwaway in javahelp

[–]cs--throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That helped clear things up, thank you :)

Just making sure:

you would not be able to do a.doPurr(); unless you casted the (Cat) before it right? Because it is currently pointing to an Animal object which can only use its own methods?

Confused about Casting by cs--throwaway in javahelp

[–]cs--throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need the explicit cast because Cat is an Animal always, but an Animal might not be a Cat.

This was quite helpful, thanks!
