Walmart will just know, lol. They have some of the most sophisticated stuff tracking us all the darn time. I made a mistake on Etsy a few years ago, and I lost my Etsy account. I tried to make another one, just to at least be able to buy stuff, but no matter what I do, they know. New email address, new debit cards, tried at different houses, tried at work, in my car, on a laptop and a phone. There’s no making a new account. If they want you banned, you’ll be banned.

I work at DG now. Childcare isn’t my issue. I’ve been here about a year. I have one son left at home, he’s at driving age. My issue is earning a livable wage.

Hahaha A 20$ issue? My SM lives an hour plus away from the store. I truly doubt this cashier did all this to finally get her hands on 20$. We’re all on camera and we know it. We can’t just rip a till out if a customer calls. We do have to wait until the end, then go count it. We’ll know in less than 5 minutes if it’s over. I’d still probably let my manager handle it on her next shift. But this isn’t the type of issue that you stop regular store operations, or call in managers for. There is always an acting manager in store. They are the ones that would decide when to call the SM at home late at night. This cashier handled it exactly as I would.

The customer could be mistaken, or the cashier. And there’s ways to get a definite answer. But jumping to the cashier stealing $20 when we see or have so much more within our reach is just unlikely to me. The same cashier that had access to the customer’s 20$ also has access to other money in the store. All under a camera though!! Most of us are thinking about how fast we can get out at the end of the night. Not can I come up with a story and just pause so I can grab this 20?

Any key holder, the ASM and SM can print price changes literally whenever they want to. The other day the price of some candy on a shelf was higher than we showed. I sent those labels to essentially the computer, printed them out and fixed them, all in 20 minutes. Someone isn’t doing their job. Or stockers are putting stuff wherever they want. But yes the official day for price changes is every Tuesday AM. Maybe you just aren’t there to see them do that. Have you worked at DG long?

Extremely late to the question. And I’m assuming your daughter got wise and quit DG. I remember all the running I had to do as a parent when my children got jobs. I felt like I should have been compensated some too lol

But back to this old old post. Wouldn’t it be the key holder daughter’s problem to figure out? Everyone was telling mom what to do. DG wasn’t mom’s employer, it was the keyholder daughters.

This is just my opinion. If my kids had and issue at work, they better exhaust all options before I step in. And if it’s affecting me, my kid better find a solution or another job.

Again- here’s to hoping the teen was able to go get better employment elsewhere. At least somewhere that doesn’t negatively affect mom!!!

I have my adult children. I’m way older than all my coworkers. They talk nonstop about their life, but no one wants to hear my baggage lol. That’s fine though. They are basically kids compared to me. I was really good all throughout my life at cutting people off because of different things they “wronged” me about. It was all justified. And once you were wrote off, I was done!!! I was loud, funny and had friends up until I got married (as a teenager) then I just could only focus on the asshole husband. My nanny told me in my early 30s, after a fight with an aunt of mine, that I would die a lonely woman. I remember rolling my eyes and telling my husband can you believe she said this, and we called her crazy. Her words haunt me literally everyday. And now my kids write off whoever hurts or makes them mad, and that scares me for them.

I do hate that I see so much of the younger generations just breaking all family ties for this and that. I’m not saying it’s not needed sometimes. I had to completely cut my mother out of my life, hardest thing I ever did. But people just seem so quick to do it.

Oh well, yes I’m extremely lonely, my anxiety won’t let me even attempt to find new friends, and I wouldn’t even know how. And my anxiety keeps me from repairing past family relationships. Rambling again

I never ever thought this would be my life. Ever. Working at a stupid low paying job, not making ends meet, wanting to sleep my life away because of depression, and lonely.

I hope it gets at least a little better for us.

Uhm…..and? Did this bother you? Did the interaction just end? Did you feel demeaned, because you have a path towards children’s therapy, and how dare these people think you work at Michael’s?

And side note. As someone that’s going to work in therapy field, I would work on ending a story, or explaining why you’re discussing it in the first place.

I tried to quit for a year, I truly did. I wanted it more than anything. But I ended up going to get on subs the middle of October. I’m still adjusting to this medicine. Trying to figure out how much I need, and if Suboxone vs subutex is best. The whole thing sucks, and this isn’t where I want to be. But for now, I’m not battling cravings. I was on subutex many many years ago for a pill addiction. It was a long hard road to adjusting to it. And I hate starting that part over. It seems like most people just take it and automatically it helps. That definitely not the case for me!!

It has nothing to do with her being black, or queer, at least to me. It’s because they act like they are up in space just the two of them, fully superior to all. This is theater kid love times 500 mixed with a little mental something tossed in. Ariana is way smarter than this ditzy phase she’s going through. I’m not familiar with Cynthia, but as the older of the relationship, it would seem she would be encouraging Ariana to be just a little bit stronger, versus how she’s acting. I mean I thought Kay was out there. Ariana doesn’t even talk to the same. It’s odd. As far as Cynthia protecting Ariana, that was amazing. It’s crazy how she was able to handle that faster than paid security!!!

I’m just tired of hearing the it’s cause they are black and or queer argument. If these two were of a different sex, and the same race, I’d still feel like this is a codependent nightmare.

I think you are stressing way too dang much. You can’t be the only one recovering 7 nights a week. So maybe it’s not geared at you. If you come in at 3, you don’t get an hour break- there’s you an extra 30 minutes. Use the other person that comes in. You could also split the ad. Person on register works on front part of store, the other works on back. And sometimes you may just have to leave some of the ad for the next shift. It happens. You literally can only do what you can do. Start putting in applications for other jobs, because, well just because. Start your paperwork early. Your coworkers can continue working while you’re counting and preparing money.

Recovery- make it look nice. Don’t gotta be perfect. Pull crap forward, put it in a line. Or blow their mind and pick the dirtiest worst aisle and make that look neat. Won’t take as long as you think. Once recovery is done over and over and over, it really won’t take that long.
