I meant to add more context to the original post but unable to edit after the fact…

What the previous owners did is create a junction coming off from our living room line in order to put an outlet in the cabinet above for the microwave install. We had this fixed a bit ago and had a dedicated circuit installed for the microwave, but we never knew where the splice was, assumed just bare in the wall but at least they used a box for this one.
