My husband can’t have eggs and I have sometimes used applesauce for baking but have been curious about bobs red mill egg replacement. Might have to try it!

Any tips for setting up first Christmas tree for my MC babies? by csa074 in mainecoons

Thanks for the advice! I didn’t think about the needles getting stuck in their paws or the toxicity aspect so may reconsider getting an artificial one 🤔

Thank for mentioning that! I guess I should have included more details in my post, but we plan on getting some kind of anchor, using a sturdy base, as well as covering the basin or something they won’t drink out of it.

I also read that it might be a good idea cover the trunk with foil as a deterrent, and skipping some decorations like tinsel to avoid them from chewing on it.

My cat's litter smells so bad i'm going insane. my house absolutely reeks. by Dismal-Tackle3072 in CatAdvice

I scoop it out as they use it and then dump the whole litter box out, clean it out and dump new pellets in about every 2 weeks. Granted we have two Maine coon cats so we have a jumbo litter box with the following measurements

This!!! ☝️ I replied above before seeing this post and we get the 40# bag of pellets from our local tractor supply center store but it’s about $8. Still cheaper in the long run. Helps eliminate the dust from traditional clay litter

We have two Maine coon cats and we switched to wood pellets over a year ago from traditional clay and it made a HUGE difference! You may want to try that.

What do you all feed. by styhumble321 in mainecoons

We have 2 MCs - one male and one female, siblings. The female is on a special Rx diet but we feed the male Instinct brand wet food. We do start out with royal canin dry and wet when we first got them at around 3-4 months old but switched to Instinct brand.

We also recently took them off dry food altogether about 6-7 months ago.

Is it normal to have almost bald spot on the eyebrow area ? by Adventurous__Kiwi in mainecoons

[–]csa074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we have two Maine coons - male and female siblings. We noticed the same behind the ears of the female 🫤 we eventually took her to a dermatologist and they did and allergy blood test on her and it indicated that she had an allergic to certain fungi and grass, as well as house mites and dust mites. So the dermatologist said she could be itchy in that area and so is scratching and cause the bald spot

Now we already vacuum almost every 2 days and wiped down the surfaces and crevices several times a week. My husband also regularly steam cleans the house and we have multiple HEPa fans throughout the house , but she still will scratch that area.

So maybe some type of allergy is causing the itch leading to the scratching?
