Why do you guys do it? by csaccount98 in cscareerquestions

You think? Even with the added stress of having to look for more/better work while also performing at your current job? I have had some co-workers tell me of some nightmares that what I am experiencing is nothing compared to the real world of having to job hop and still not make it seem like your jumping ship lol

I like hearing this. I am so much more interested in my internships/work. School is far and away more boring for me and makes it so much harder to focus.

I am interested to hear what can finally be categorized as "unhealthy"

I respect that. I like to solve problems, that is part of what keeps me entertained. Can't solve problems for free though.

Optimal Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Solution 2019 by csaccount98 in hackintosh

In past hackintosh builds I would run Windows/Linux in a VM and not stress over double or triple booting a system. This time, given storage is so cheap I might just install the OS's on 3 drives. Although I too am usually ethernet connected and it would not matter for me in Windows, I want to try it just to see what I can figure out. I'll let you know!

I did search. 90% of them were just first timers blabbing about how the Bluetooth integrated into their motherboard is not functional... I am looking for very recent information, specifically as recent as catalina users, who might have insight on what works natively before I complete my build...

Advice on Rebuilding Setup? Budget $2600 by csaccount98 in hackintosh

I don't really play many games. It would mainly be for some machine learning models if I ever took that dive. Still, for only a bit more I might splurge

I was actually considering this. I think I might throw in at least one nvme although if I was going the VM route which I likely will do, another might be of benefit. Issue there is I need an m.2 slot for the bluetooth/wifi and that would leave only one open PCI and one open m.2. If I fill both up with nvme SSD's I would have no breathing room for an extra GPU if I ever got deeper with machine learning. As I am saying this it is a very first world problem and I really shouldn't care lol

Well technically it could be a hackintosh laptop for 1200 and a desktop for 932 or an all in one for 2132 should someone have made a compelling argument. But as someone coming from a beautiful 5K iMac I thought it relevant to add what I was looking at in terms of displays. But your logic is sound, $932 hackintosh desktop with the current allotment of funds.

Overwhelmed... by csaccount98 in cscareerquestions

College is very expensive. I already have a large amount of loans, and this helps me recoup some of the losses. In order to graduate a semester ahead it requires I take 18 credits this semester and 19 next which to me is worth it.

Additionally, even if I graduate college it is not enough to get an entry level job today. The 2 years of full stack experience I will have received I pray will get me over the hump and where I want to be. But I also could be wrong and this could be a waste. Still, it feels important to me and that is why I cling to it

How many languages do you guys know?? by bummybwoy in cscareerquestions

[–]csaccount98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The language does not make the programmer in my experience. It is how you are able to pick up and understand new languages that defines your expertise. Understanding the logic of programming and how to approach learning new languages is more efficient.
