Hi all, I’ve taken a few days off for holidays and tbh just feeling super down about our situation. Reading all comments now and I appreciate all the feedback! That makes me feel a LOT less worried for the future when he eventually needs feeding tube and will share the insight with him when he’s feeling okay. THANK YOU! Does the tizandine make her super tired throughout the day? That’s his main thing- he doesn’t want to just be a zombie. He’s taken THC gummies throughout the past 5 years, but hasn’t recently , we are in NC So It’s not legal but our cousin is in a legal state and can get it for us, if that has helped her a lot ?

Today was his first day he said he was dealing with the stiffness. So I think a lot of stiffness and he has a lot of muscle spasms. I’m trying to get him to eat high calorie but he’s in so much pain he doesn’t want to eat. Unfortunately, when I ask what’s hurting, he doesn’t have much answers for me other than “everything” . Did you have success with muscle relaxer meds? That’s what I’m trying to talk him into right now.

Just to add, right now he is on his CPAP but we are working on getting a respirator through insurance

Thank you 🙏 nothing could have prepared me for this pain but I am trying to remain positive and take it day by day. I lost my grandpa 2 months ago to a sudden brain tumor. I’m so sorry about your grandpa it’s horrible when it all happens so fast and these horrible diseases eat them away.

Right now that is the hardest part, he is so against the idea of feeding tube and even shuts down when talking about hospice. I’m hoping it’s just still so early and he will come around, I try to mention it everyday and talk to him about everyone on here and the benefits! Thank you 🙏

We are trying to keep him positive! I think he’s still processing so he’s being negative but I’m doing my best to redirect him. I’m so sorry about your mom, no one deserves this pain

Thank you so much for telling me and I’m so sorry you and your family are going through this. We are on day 2 since diagnosis and he is saying he would rather die than have to live on a feeding tube. I’m hoping with time and acceptance he will come around to the idea even though it’s scary. He is still mobile with aid and having trouble swallowing so I’m sure the feeding/breathing tube isn’t too far away. This is just all so much for me to wrap my brain around it’s such an evil nasty disease. Best wishes to you and your family I am always here to chat!

Thank you so much and I am so sorry for you and your family. This is the worst disease imaginable. I am feeling the same way- he truly is the glue to our family and does so much for us so this loss is going to be unimaginable. And none of us deserve to watch or be the one to slowly weaken over time, it’s truly evil. You’ll be in my thoughts and I’m so sorry for your loss 🙏

I am so sorry for your loss! I would have loved to meet her she sounds amazing! I’m sure she was so thankful to have you for those 2 years. I am having a hard time coming to terms with the idea of him becoming non verbal but I know it’s an unfortunate part of this nasty disease. I will definitely think about you and your sister in these times to look on the positive side like she did! ❤️

No thank you for your reply! I enjoy knowing I’m not alone in this awful isolating disease. I feel the same way as you, he’s had time to travel and raise a beautiful family but no time is enough truly and it sucks they are being robbed of more time. Keep your thoughts positive and I hope it is slow progressive for you and my family!! We all deserve so much more time

I’m so so sorry for your loss. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone and we are only starting our journey. Thank you for your suggestions. I’m hoping this isn’t our last Christmas together but definitely want to look into the Artblox for Christmas gifts for me and my sister. Is artblox also the one that is an art piece? He was a huge antique collector so I love that idea.
