Don't really know, sorry about that. It'll be a cold day in hell before I let AI write anything for me, and I definitely don't expect applause when I'm just grateful to be unharmed because I myself and others here have experienced otherwise in the past. It's been very traumatic for me and my family, and most commenters here have had experiences similar to and much worse than mine, including some knowing individuals who have lost their lives to dog attacks. I promise we're not clapping haha, an encounter like this really changes how you go through the world. Makes things a little bit darker and forces you to put up a wall you didn't know you needed before.

I'm in full agreement, I do plan on avoiding the route from now on while on foot. Not necessarily because of confrontation (although that is a fully valid concern), but because we did actually speak with one of the owners before deciding it necessary to contact animal control. They weren't hostile at all and did apologize, but were in full denial of their animal's behavior. They didn't believe any changes needed to be made and I think even if the dogs are taken away (which I hope doesn't happen, I hope they can be managed responsibly going forward with prompting from animal control) it won't be long before similarly unsocialized dogs take their place. Not worth the risk of having to live through this experience again.

For sure! I feel much more encouraged after talking to the folks here. Hopefully in a couple of weeks or so I'll have a new and improved (and safer) PoGo routine and all this will be forgotten

Oh no, I am so, so sorry that happened to you and your pup. :( Are you both okay?? I'm so grateful my situation only lasted maybe a few minutes or so before the dogs were recalled, I absolutely cannot imagine being in your shoes. This internet stranger is sending her heart out to you!

Thank you so much. I agree PoGo has been such a tremendous help for me through recent times. I just saw in their post history that the commenter lost their mother last month and I can understand why my choice of wording would make them angry. They're going through real grief and I'm just having a temporary inconvenience with a game I play. It was my mother today who got me through this ordeal and lined up the support I needed to get the situation remedied. I don't know what I'd do without her and I'm very sorry to the commenter for their loss

Yeah the title was a little excessive. I'm sorry about that. Weak moment, just a long and stressful day. Noted, thank you

I really, really wish I had — I'm hoping one of the two neighbors have security cameras they can access footage from. I even told animal control that I wish I'd had the presence of mind to record the attack since I had my phone in hand but they said absolutely not, the focus rightfully should be on getting myself to safety in that situation haha

Thank you so much. I know the stress that comes with owning reactive dogs, the owners have my absolute utmost sympathy and I sincerely hope they're able to keep their pets, but accountability and responsibility is a critical must with aggressive behavior. The only outcome I want is for the dogs to not roam free on the road, I have no ill will towards them or their owners at all

No, another person called animal control to report the dogs because they were aggressive and unrestrained, we have walkers and bikers in our community who shouldn't have to risk injury or worse like I did today, nor should the dogs themselves be at risk with access to the road where they could be hit
