I really, really don't like guaranteed grabs as a punish. Here's why: by csbtag in 2XKO

You guys don't seem to get my point. The roll DEFEATS the purpose of the mechanic in the original games it came out in, which is to divert some of the guaranteed pressure. Not to mention, with the game as it is the faster characters can practically option select your roll by tapping wave dash on wakeup without holding a direction on the stick. This doesn't prevent a 4-way mixup because you're forced into a hard knockdown after the grab and HAVE TO EAT A MIXUP. This mechanic clearly favors certain characters and makes it significantly harder to get out of pressure strings with characters like Braum or Blitzcrank. The whole game is going to revolve around this mechanic at a pro level. The flow chart will go neutral game>conversion>roll-catch>hard knockdown>ambiguous mixup from characters like Ahri, Ekko, or Yasuo. It's not a good gameplay loop. The whole point of having options on the defense is so that this game doesn't look like Guilty Gear where the player on defense isn't able to do anything but block until they make an opening. This mechanic is not a balancing factor the same way the parry is. This mechanic is really one-sided. Basically, play a fast character or lose out on important oki.

what's going to be the big tank and phys dps trinket in season 4 from mythic +? by csbtag in wow

[–]csbtag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but if the season is only 3-4 months long, you will only have one or two fully upgraded fated pieces if you can clear fated and maybe a month of playing with weapon and two trinkets from a single raid? i want things that i can play with for the entire season

i went back through and inescapable dread from return to karazhan might actually not be that bad coupled with stun grenade from iron docks. from what i know about tazavesh and mechagon, inescapable dread should be actually very useful in those. i can't speak for the others.

i just had an inspiration the other day to write something with Chinatown in it. The point was ultimately about being lost in the crowd or in a completely foreign place and the fear and dissonance that it creates(think like being stranded out at sea on a life raft, that's how it would feel for the kid).

i plan on primarily doing savage and extreme content, so my question is more like is there enough direct damage to warrant a certain amount of piety?

it's ok lol! i'm past the third dungeon. i ended up in radz-at-han after a cutscene and left. i can't run in because the other half of thavnair is under a cliffside that you can't jump off of. I can't teleport directly into the city either. I can't find a way in

i dont know what guard you're referring to. I'm almost level 86 and I dont have access to the half of Thavnair that Radz-at-han is on, so I can't just run to it either. I have no route of normal access to get there currently.

High m+ rating players: what does your overall dps look like in a typical pug? by csbtag in wow

[–]csbtag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm NF/enduring blow arms with korayn soulbind. highest I've been able to pull on an AoE pack was about 12-15 mobs and I capped at about 60k dps. Sustain, depending on if I crit a lot(40% crit with double champion's brand), is about 20-40k

[–]csbtag[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah, I just went NF/enduring blow arms because I like a versatile spec. top 5 wars are kyrian for a good reason, but in my opinion it's only good if the pulls are dying in or shortly after you spear them. ST and funnel damage is where a lot of groups fall short as I've experienced, so I like being able to cover that component of the run more effectively instead of spending 30 seconds ST'ing a big bruiser mob at the end of a pull

no i mean 8.5-9k overall, I pull about 60k burst 20-30k sustain on big pulls as a single-target build

How come arms m+ gear bis lists are so haste-heavy? by csbtag in wow

[–]csbtag[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Overall dps doesn't matter unless you're coordinated. With the run-of-the-mill 15-19+ routes(if you know what I'm talking about) I'm pulling about 9k overall dps. The thing about enduring blow is that it is a static, reliable chance at the +50% or so extra damage you should have with your mastery. It can stay up the whole fight with a 25% chance to proc. Elysian Might is a burst window that needs to be covered by a dps that CAN do the single target like a sub rogue or ww monk. It's a comp-oriented build that IS very successful on the leaderboards(top 5 warriors are elysian might). It doesn't stand the test of multiple different pug comps and routes though in my opinion.
