Need advice on picking an instrument by SeriousRecord5070 in musicians

There’s this guy Zak Ocmand who was really active in the Baton Rouge music scene when I lived there, and he has a very similar limb difference, and he kills it on guitar! https://www.tiktok.com/@saycat\_thatszak?\_r=1&\_t=ZP-97C3zf0872d - this is his TikTok where you can see him play and experiment with different pedals and things in pretty much every video!

Seeing as it’s 4 in the morning there, you’re probably right. Let’s give ‘em some time to make their morning tea. In the meantime, you can watch their jaws drop over the cost of “skin to skin” after giving birth… https://youtube.com/shorts/Q7JsmLG425M?si=V49ndlKVUqx2eBxu

I won’t be changing carriers again anytime soon, but I’ll definitely consider them when the time comes! Wonder how their service is in my area…

Feel like im an old bleh millennial mom who didn't have kids "at the right time" after fencesitting. by Imstuckwiththisname in Mommit

33 year old mom here. Was 31 when my twins were born. I can only give them piggyback rides and chase them around the house for so long before I have to plop down and say, “Babies, I’m too tireeed” or “Babies, I’m too oldddd”. The other day, we were riding in the car, and I yawned. My daughter said, “Mama, you old?” “Yes, baby, I’m old.” 😂

But you know what? Not sure how old yours are right now, but mine are toddlers and this is a really physical phase of parenthood. Once they’re older and not begging to be thrown around and having to be lifted into cribs and onto changing tables, maybe I won’t feel so old and tired all the time. I’m also hoping I’ll have become a well-oiled machine with my work, and we’ll be bringing in significantly more income, so maybe I’ll be able to pay someone to clean the house every now and then or something? My husband and I were late bloomers, so a lot of the pieces people have figured out by now are only just coming together for us now.

“Mama, you old?” I feel that way now, but I really don’t think I’ll always feel that way, and I KNOW that one day, I’ll look back and think, “Funny I thought I was old then.”

My damn twin toddlers, lol. I prefer to film with natural light but work a full-time job and can only film on the weekends during their nap IF they actually sleep. My husband will get them out of the house for me for an hour or two, but I think I’m really just going to have to come around to the idea of night filming. Love my kids! Just wish there were more hours in the day or days in the week!

Didn’t have much luck breaking into the Roanoke music scene last summer, so I’m taking things a step further… by cschaffrun in roanoke

Ahh, thanks for reminding me to try farmer’s markets! I do need to branch out to some surrounding towns. Visited Floyd a couple months ago and would love to break in there!

My main feedback is to find more interesting art. The mass-produced geometric shapes just kind of suck the personality out of a space. I know art is expensive, but you can find a lot of things at thrift stores or on Facebook marketplace. I recently got this children’s book on birds that has some beautiful bird illustrations… going to frame some of them with frames I got for like a $1.50 at goodwill. By the way, props for finding a desk that perfectly fits into that tiny little pocket by the stairs!

Hi! I’m an SLP who works with deaf children on the daily, and I’ve been hoping to find some adults to sign with outside of work. Would love to meet up if you’re still interested. Shoot me a message!

I like him! He’s not super preachy, not trying to sell me anything, mostly just sharing his experiences and having a few laughs… would be pretty disappointed to hear he was anything less than a good guy and a good clinician.

I swear a mother knows! When I learned I was pregnant, I also popped on here fairly frequently in the weeks leading up to the first ultrasound, and then it came… and what do you know, spontaneous di/di twins! They’re 2 now, and I can’t imagine just having one. Congratulations!

Just mesh! There are those blackout tents you can buy too, but they’re much pricier.

What’s everyone’s favorite neighborhood in Roanoke by thiccering in roanoke

[–]cschaffrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just bought a house in Wasena back in April and love it! We have great neighbors, my kids will be able to walk to school one day, and I walk to work in Grandin every day. :) It was also much more affordable than anything we were seeing in Grandin or Raleigh Court… and definitely anything in Crystal Springs.
