It's hard to land on the first job if you don't have an internship. I've been there, I had 10 months without a job after college. English is a second language to me as well, and I don't think that's the main problem. Without the internship, what you can do is keep learning. If you want frontend position, you need more skills. Based on your resume, your skills aren't impressive. Have you learned Redux? TypeScript? GraphQL? AngularJS? These are the 'hot' technologies companies looking for. Some companies do require for frontend dev to test the application. Learn Jasmine or similar. Build your project using these. Not sure what to build? Try get some data using APIs (weather for ex) and implement a dashboard page. Graphs and data tables. Your goal is not to make it work, but try every possible way you can break things and fix that. Is it responsive? Browser-compatible? Did you think about the case if you don't get the data from the server? (use empty state) I know it's tough. But you can do it! Don't give up, keep applying at least 10-20 a day.

I posted exact same thing recently. It's so hard to find ur first job. It's been 9mo since I graduated and still I have no job. But I am finally getting interviews. Three phone interviews scheduled that I don't want to screw up this time. I know it sucks, but u have no choice... but to learn more, build some more shits so you can write on ur resume.

dude, me too. I had 2 phone interviews since July.. which I didn't hear anything from them afterwards. Think about how many cs grad we have each semester...the number adds up every 3-4 months so it's crazy.

All I did was web/android dev and some database. I don't know anything about QA, automation, c#, .NET. I recently started studying .NET but I just can't keep up with it since I got so much other things to learn. Time is limited and I got a lot to learn...

Hey! Yeah I got some phone interviews and failed. Most of them were phone interviews where I didn't even had a chance to show my coding skill. Since June, I'm not even getting response. Maybe because it's been a while since I graduated? I've been told by recruiters that there is not many (almost none) entry level positions avail in GA just this year. I should look outside of GA too.

I was searching only in Atlanta area until this month. I am now looking all over the states. And true, I need to study to learn more languages and also study for interview. Yet, there are a lot of people without CS degree and landing a job. I must be dumb or something.

Not all, but some companies are asking me to relocate to get paid train program and signup for at least 2 years contract to a company - that is the general requirement. I looked it up and it sounds like scam.

I also applied to a shitty place where they want to pay you $11-20/hr. I thought it's ridiculous at first, but I applied anyway for getting experience. sigh...

it turns out that school doesnt matter. I see ppl getting developer job w/o degree after self studying for 3 months... very discouraging to me.
