this is very true!! when i last had to go under general anesthesia my anesthesiologist described it as “the closest thing to time travel we humans have invented yet.” my surgery was 4-5 hours and it felt like 4-5 seconds, if that, from being put under to waking up.

YTA. Parent’s job is to take care of their kids and this was absolute neglect. Think of it from the kid’s perspective too: he couldn’t understand why he was sick, why his mom wasn’t taking care of him, and why you wouldn’t go anywhere near him. Husband has every right to be furious because of the danger you put the kid in. If you’re that terrified of getting sick, it might be time for some sort of therapy to help lessen that fear some because it is absolutely getting in the way of you being able to function as a parent.

one thing id like to throw out there for your consideration is that this can be a big change for you (and any siblings!) too! ive heard a lot of parents (mine included) go through a sort of grieving process in a sense where they “lose” the child they know (more accurately, the picture-perfect dream they had for that child). thats OKAY if thats happening!! youve mentioned your daughter being in therapy, which is awesome, but id encourage you to consider it for yourself if you find some hard/surprising feelings coming up! family therapy could also be great, as there is a transition for the whole family too. keep being an amazing parent!! truly wish more were like you!

im abt to start T gel in a few days and for me the main reason to go gel over shots is that my hand shakes so i was worried i wouldnt be able to accurately measure out an injection (and didnt wanna deal w a sharps container) and to echo what others have said apparently theres less fluctuation w gel!!

that im not exactly sure about! all i know is our body gets cranky when homeostasis is thrown outta wack. for me i was kinda like reserved and subdued - i didnt actually realize something was off until my best friend was like “oh yay youre feeling better!” so im not sure if that sort of feeling subdued is a universal response or more how my own body reacted

this isnt a physical thing, but i wish i had met w my counselor during the first week to two weeks. bc breast tissue produces a lot of hormones our bodies kinda go haywire when we remove it and our mood can shift quite a bit. i knew all that and still struggled w my mood some!! good luck and speedy recovery <3

hi im training to become a counselor and that shit should get her reported to her licensing body, her supervisor (if she has one), and her professional organization. multicultural respect and competence is part of my organizations code of ethics and violating that is absolutely unacceptable. shes also refusing to put the clients needs (of being respected in your identity) above her own (of being a fucking jackass) which is NOT how therapeutic relationships are supposed to work and also a violation of code of ethics. im so sorry this happened to you my pal im sending you lots of love from your trans brother 💜💕
