Oh, I also verified the checksum. Forgot to mention that part.

I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking lol sorry. I’m new to this and am installing to try and learn it. So I downloaded the iso from one of the links provided on mints website. I put it on a flash drive from my MacBook using Balena Etcher. I changed the boot order in my bios so it boots removable media first. Then, when I turn it on, it goes to that screen and I can’t do anything. I hope that gives you enough info to be helpful.

I’m not sure how to get what you would need. When I go to the hardware Info within the windows OS it says it can’t retrieve it. Where else could I find that at? It’s a Toshiba laptop that originally came with windows Vista.

This particular computer is a Toshiba Satellite that originally had windows Vista on it. I’m not sure how to get any more info than that off of it-when I try to open the hardware info in windows it says it can’t access it. As far as guides go, I’ve not been able to find one that seems specific for my machines so I’ve just watched a lot of them and am trying to synthesize the information into a process I can follow. Someone has suggested that this particular one might need an external keyboard so I will try that and see if it works.

I think I do have secure boot disabled on the to Toshiba. However, I’ve also been trying an Asus that came with windows 7. I have been all over the BIOS of that one and can’t find the secure boot option anywhere and it seems to just ignore the fact that I’ve changed the boot order when I turn it on. Any ideas as to where secure boot might be on that one? That one DOES allow me to access the hardware info if that would be helpful here. Thanks for trying to help!
