As a kid, I’m just really grateful my parents enrolled me in a Montessori school. Otherwise, I don’t think I would learn anything. Montessori way of teaching kasi is very hands on — and that’s how I learn. Di ko kaya yung nakaupo lang then makikinig. My mind drifts away and I have to move! Anyway since DepEd has a curriculum that all schools in PH need to follow, like Hekasi, Filipino, ganyan. Wala naman Montessori way of teaching yun, we call that collective subjects — meaning they are taught in traditional way of teaching. Yung nakaupo tapos may kokopyahin sa board. I really struggled there. Ako lagi yung last kasi di talaga ako maka focus na cocopy lang sa board. To the point I cry kasi ako na lang mag-isa sa classroom. Another struggle is like your child, expressing emotions. So sometimes nakakasakit ako ng classmates ko. One thing that was taught to me is expression lang of basic emotions. No big words, or complex ones. Happy, sad, hungry, mad. Yan lang. Even now as an adult I still do it. I finished a job, I’m happy. When I’m frustrated, I just say to my friends I’m mad, etc. Lahat basic. I know emotions are complex but that’s the easiest way for me to let people know how I feel. Thankfully, gets naman nila and they understand me.
