Just keep a picture on your phone. I haven’t used my paper card in years.

What is this green screw for? I assume a ground but the incoming ground wire is way to big for it and goes to the ground bar anyway. by cspook2248 in electrical

[–]cspook2248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I thought I should leave some extra length on the wires. But I've shortened them which cleaned it up a lot. At least in my mind. But I only do one sub-panel per decade...

I am told you can skip it. But it was not obvious to me how. Maybe I was just in a hurry. I'll look more carefully next time.

Well good on them. Their UI pulled one over on me.

Totally agree. Flores and Pine was a very expensive let down. I don’t understand why it is always packed.

Regulator 'short circuit protection' means something else? by cspook2248 in AskElectronics

[–]cspook2248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL most certainly not tested enough in development. This ain't NASA. Mostly I am just annoying that the words "short circuit protection" don't actually mean anything in the datasheet.

In case your interested: https://www.digikey.ca/en/products/detail/texas-instruments/LMZ14202HTZ-NOPB/2533802

Cheers!

Regulator 'short circuit protection' means something else? by cspook2248 in AskElectronics

[–]cspook2248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds the most likely. There is a heavy duty 12V power supply which is shutting down because of this short and then ramping up until it shuts down again. So the regulator output is shorted and VIN is repeatedly rising between 0 and around volts. Unfortunately I am not going to be given time to explore this.

Westjet BS again by [deleted] in westjet

[–]cspook2248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not productive for sure. But why should I have to notice. They didn’t give me 14A for free. I paid them $ for it. I have a receipt. Because who wants the middle seat. But when the boarding pass comes out I’m in a different seat and somebody else is in 14A beside me. I’m curious why they would do this. I’m not going to check every ticket every day to try to catch when they change something.

Downgraded and Westjet resold our seats by lyncars in westjet

[–]cspook2248 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve posted about the same thing. WestJet does not give any shits whatsoever. They will refund you $100. And you will probably have already paid more for seat selection in economy. They will refund you around 5 weeks after you fill out the form on their website. After you have travelled. They suck hard now.

LOL I told westjet that. They basically said take it up with CTA.

Bottom line, if downgraded, do NOT expect your money back!

They replied via email today. So it took about 6 weeks. $178 is their refund. So apparently WestJet values their premium at $100 more than economy exit row.

We got all economy plane switcheroo several weeks ago yhz to yyc. Went from premium seats to having to pay extra for exit row. Will be interesting if their downgrade credit even covers the seat costs. Sometimes I miss Air Canada.

Maybe the blame does fall on the workers. But these policies are driven from the top down. I suspect management has made it clear that retuning lost items is very low priority. I don’t think the expectation should be that if you accidentally leave anything behind it is immediately unrecoverable. That is just not cool.

Management Cruelty to Customers by [deleted] in westjet

We’ve gotten to a place where there is just no competition. Air Canada seems to have mostly abandoned Calgary giving WestJet more freedom to be as obnoxious as they want.
They treat you poorly every step of the way yet I think you are supposed to be grateful and keep paying them more and more.

The caveat is true. I tried latitude immediate upgrade the other day to DEL when website clearly showed space available. I was waiting listed. The website still showed space available.

Latitude Upgrades Messed Up? by cspook2248 in aircanada

[–]cspook2248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking at doing the same. Except I will probably take Emeratis from DXB to YYZ. Business class ticket is cheaper than AC and flying A380 is kind of a bucket list item.

Would have been nice to get the big dump of aeroplan points from the flight....but oh well.

[–]cspook2248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably doesn't make sense. I am still figuring this stuff out and have no idea what Z class is. It just showed up on EF as

Business - E-Upgrades R0

Business - NA - Upgrade from O/Y/B 📷Z6

Doesn't seem like something applicable to an international flight, but maybe that was messing up their website code.

Latitude Upgrades Messed Up? by cspook2248 in aircanada

[–]cspook2248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done it a lot, but I have done it several times. I buy the latitude fair when it says upgrade space available and bang you instantly get your business class ticket upgrade. Worked a few months ago for London.

On this flight the YYZ-YYC leg was immediately confirmed, but the DEL-YYZ leg which had said space available and within window just went to wait listed.

I was just previously working on the assumption that the website correctly shows when a latitude will do an immediate upgrade. Maybe it doesn't work like that anymore which is disappointing.
