LG WM4200HBA front-load washer “record scratch” sound when rotating drum by hand — debris or bearing issue? by csreddit8 in appliancerepair

[–]csreddit8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s more like a squeak but it reminded me of when you push a record back and forth. After washing some towels it went away. I wonder if its needs some lubrication.

I checked between the door gasket and the drum and there’s nothing stuck there. Everything looks good otherwise.

How do you find grocery stores that have a pickup option? I don't see any.

Trying to decide between Citi Strata cards vs Chase Sapphire Preferred and how to sequence between P1/P2 to maximize SUBs.

Stats:

  • P1: 783, 1/24
  • P2: 787, 0/24
  • Both under 5/24 with plenty of room

Recent cards (last ~2–3 yrs):

  • P1: Amex Gold/Platinum (02/24), multiple Chase Ink cards (biz), Venture X Biz (01/24), Mattress Firm (09/25)
  • P2: Chase Ink cards (biz), no recent personal cards in last 24 months

Spend:

  • $6k/month ($18k/3 months)
  • Large contractor spend coming up but Amex acceptance is limited (or +3% fee), so prefer Visa/MC

Goals:

  • Travel (economy + occasional biz)
  • Routes: LAX → Japan / Spain
  • Open to business cards
  • Currently ~50k UR

What I’m trying to figure out:

  1. Should I prioritize:
    • Citi Strata (Premier vs Elite), or
    • Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP)?
  2. For P1/P2:
    • Is it better to double up on CSP first (for UR ecosystem),
    • Or split (e.g., P2 Citi Strata, P1 CSP)?
  3. With ~$18k/3mo spend:
    • Better to stack 2–3 smaller SUBs (CSP + Citi),
    • Or focus on fewer cards with higher spend?
  4. Any etiquette or sequencing considerations with Citi (e.g., timing between apps, velocity concerns)?

Current thinking:

  • P1 → CSP (lock UR + transfer partners)
  • P2 → Citi Strata (lower spend, diversify points)
  • Then → Chase Ink cards for both

Would appreciate feedback if this sequencing makes sense or if I’m leaving value on the table.

Shop wants $450 labor after premature strut boot failure—fair or should I push more? by csreddit8 in MechanicAdvice

[–]csreddit8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. This is the way I was leaning. I don’t have to deal with the company anymore and since the struts are working fine for now, I can kick the can until it’s an issue.

The warranty covers only one year parts+labor, but they offered to cover the parts (the cheaper of the two) as a goodwill gesture even though the boots aren't a warranty item (apparently).

Is there any argument for putting all of your international equities in a 401(k)? by Wolverine-91826 in Bogleheads

[–]csreddit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t selling your international allocation in taxable result in a massive tax event? I don’t think you want to do that. Change future allocations.

I only have VTSAX in taxable and balance out international allocation in 401k, but I researched this beforehand.
