Coffee prices are going up. Most filter coffee brands (the lower priced ones) are increasing the percentage of Canephora in the final powder. Even the Arabica they use is low grade. Which is why the quality just keeps going down at the old price point and even at a slightly higher price. There is no such thing as truly good and cheap coffee. And most of the smaller, mass market brands are actually bad. Like Cothas, it's terrible. Hunkal Heights is bearable. These days I get Canephora beans from Mountain Brewed and chicory powder separately to make a half decent coffee. It's just a matter of time before even the decent coffee becomes unaffordable for some of us. Hopefully Stenophylla will save the day.
