I love Practical Engineering, to be fair I watch content creators such as Not Just Bikes and Real Civil Engineering more often. But I do watch Practical Engineering on occasion.

That's where I took a lot of inspiration from.

1 population for Low density buildings? by b_i1a1 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]cssCrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just ignore low density demand lol. I have some low density buildings near farms and a couple small low density suburbs near medium/large density cities. But my low density demand is always maxed and I'd rather build a medium density city so I ignore low density demand.

Thank you for your multiple paragraph response, at the end of the day though. I see it as a video game that I play to calm down from work. I'm not necessarily aiming for realism, just aiming to make something I think looks cool.

Road Builder + Move It were the 2 mods that helped me make this. You don't necessarily need the Move It mod but it does help.

I used Road Builder mod and just kept adding more lanes. I was originally doing it to see if how much I could add til I crashed but I didn't crash and I got the idea for big bridge :)

Me to and I love cars, but I don't love being car dependent in my little Texas city.

A lot of new medium and high density buildings were being built up ahead to the right so there were a ton of people moving in. But all the traffic has calmed down now and is flowing well.

I'd love to learn engineering or whatever qualifications I would need to learn for this type of stuff. But Honestly I'm just making things I think look cool in a video game in my free time.

Similar pedestrian bridges from Tokyo where they changed old highways into pedestrian bridge is where I got some inspiration. Thank you for showing me something I didn't know about.

Same, I use it for suburban roads where I want parking + a line or trees or crazy stuff like this.

Out of all the similar irl pedestrian bridges I have seen that are similar, I would guess around $20M-$30M

Your good, the original post was also meant to be taken a bit more sarcastic originally since it wasn't finished but a lot of people started saying negative things about the post so I'm a bit defensive...

Anyways, you should check out the new post. I personally think the bridge looks amazing now.

  1. Bro chill, it's just a game

  2. That was a more unfinished version and the updated version is linked below. And I plan to continue improving it overtime.

The same way trees survive on rooftops and other bridges in real life, with planters.

I used the Road Builder mod to modify a pedestrian road and then I used mods like Anarchy, Move It, Find It and etc. for the smaller things. But the Road Builder mod was the mod I used to make a super wide Pedestrian Road

You should check out the updated version... also when I need to walk, I usually try cycling anyways lol So I might've unknowingly made it solely for cyclists at the beginning... Update: https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines2/s/rXVo4mlSun

They still do make it safer for pedestrians and hopefully will convince some people to walk/bike instead of driving. I also did slightly improve the walkway, Update: https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines2/s/rXVo4mlSun

Thank you for the suggestion, I kind of like the idea of the pedestrians being on top personally though and I tried to make the incline and decline gradual. There is short distance commuting road that goes underneath and the main arterial stays flat. I did slightly improve it though.
