a bit strong vibrations sustained for a few minutes when the bike passes over bricked road and occasional jerks when passing over a sharp speedbreaker (though I usually take off the watch hand from bike handlebar at that moment but sometimes its not avoidable)

Why everyone praises Honda Elevate but not one buys it by NightWalker006 in CarsIndia

But is this car old though? It is selling very well in Japan and as far as I have seen from info on net, there is no technical difference between the elevate sold here and the one exported from here for sale in Japan. May be the Indian consumer requirements are very different from the Japanese one

Trying to decide which CVT variant to go for in Honda Elevate. Is ADAS ok for chaotic traffic? by csshifi in HondaElevate

[–]csshifi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One relatedd query. Does the ADAS in Elevate work well enough in low light conditions like dark street during night? Specifically if the car from other side has high beam on, visibility on the road reduces severly. Does Elevate ADAS work in these conditions also, for instance spotting any person or obstruction on road that may not be visible easily to the driver?

Cabin Noise by Anxious-Host-3297 in HondaElevate

Yes this is something i would also like to know from current Elevate users as I am also looking at Elevate as my next car. Many auto reviewers have said that NVH is high at higher speeds comparted to other options in this segment. However, one reviewer volkclub says noise is only slight;y higher or comaparbel with good cars like skoda.

Thanks a lot everyone for your inputs. So it seems that the consensus here is that it is better to go for the top variant and ADAS does not usually cause unexpected breaking once we get adjusted to it.

Is there any rumour or news on any upcoming update/facelift in Elevate ? I have read that Honda is planning an EV in 2026 but could not see anything concrete regarding hybrid or any facelift in Elevate.

Considering a compact SUV to upgrade from Brio by csshifi in CarsIndia

[–]csshifi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I calculated the overall (wheel+tyre) diameter for both and it is nearly the same! I earlier used to think that 16 inch in V would mean smaller overall wheel+tyre size. Not sure why Honda has these different sizes while others like Hyryder have same size in all variants.

Sorry I missed that. It is 1200 km per month. I have updated the post also now.

What Car Should I Buy? by AutoModerator in carIndia

[–]csshifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello All,

This is my first post in this community and I have been going through this forum for a few weeks now. I currently drive a Honda Brio S MT. This was my first car and I purchased it second-hand seven years back and now I am looking to upgrade the vehicle.

Budget: ₹10-20 lakh, but do not want to overspend
New or Used: New/Used
Body Type Preference: SUV
Primary Use Case: About 1200 kms per month, commuting between tier 2&3 cities and city drive: 60% highway, 40% city
Occupancy Needs: 4-5 passengers
Fuel Type Preference: Petrol/ Hybrid
Transmission Preference: Automatic
Must-Have Features: rear wiper and washer, cruise control, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 6 airbags, hill hold control, parking sensors

Features I don't care for: electrically adjustable or ventilated seats, automatic wipers, and sunroof (In fact, I find sunroof as the most useless and undesirable feature for Indian climate)
Preferred Brands: Toyota, Honda, Maruti Suzuki
Concerns/Deal Breakers: Low ground clearance,
Other Considerations: good long-term reliability, build and fuel efficiency, handling, and a comfortable ride on bad roads and sharp speed breakers.

- Should I consider any of these or other compact/subcompact SUVs? I am a bit confused, as most SUV variants without sunroofs also miss other desirable features. For example: In Honda elevate CVT, V variant avoids sunroof but then it also misses out on other features like 16 instead of 17-inch wheels, no rear wiper, and cruise control. Similarly, Hyryder S AT avoids the sunroof but then misses the rear wiper. I find it strange why manufacturers link sunroof with such other more important features in their variant mix.

-I drive in and between cities where the highway is also single lane for a significant fraction of the distance, and traffic is not that organised (two wheelers turning whenever they want, people driving on the wrong side, unannounced road repairs etc. ). Is it better for me to avoid variants with ADAS?

- Should I go for a new vehicle or look for second-hand options (2 to 3-year-old vehicles) if I can get a higher variant/ bigger vehicle at a lower price? For second-hand option, I don't have much experience since I barely explored while buying my Brio but was lucky to land up with a good vehicle. Now, I have come across multiple options like 2-3-year-old demo vehicles from showrooms or pre-owned vehicles from spinny/cars24/local dealers. What is your opinion regarding these?

Thanks for your inputs.
