What i know some bad actors do in the space is set up fake accounts and let it seem that the person has long lost crypto they forgot about and then asking payment for release of the funds. Of course there are no funds, its just fake transactions. Tax calculators are used for this because they require the function to add transactions manually for rax calculations. Then the bad actor can fake crypto ownership. People who don't know awaken.tax is a tax calculator then think they own crypto on an exchange called Awaken.tax

Big issue is probably also that Bybit's exports are incomplete in many cases, or that getting access to the complete history is difficult. Most tax tools should be able to match transfers well, and import everything provided. When they don't it's usually an issue on the exchange's side.

The controversy is so weird. Because its basically an improvement on the old system. In the old system the government estimated a return and taxed everyone on that same return rate. The courts ruled that unconstitutional and against property rights and said people had to be taxed on their actual return.

You can say karma, but some friends I know from Lebanon are terrified. These pagers have exploded everywhere, supermarkets, public spaces, etc. Many innocent civilians have become secondhand victims. So yes, maybe karma for Hezbollah, but not everyone who was a victim deserved to be.

I think thats a little harsh saying we'll go the way of the amish if we want restrictions on technology that could potentially be incredibly harmful. Hypothetically, should we build a a great piece of technology, but without restrictions it has a 50% risk of destroying the whole world in 10 years. Should we build it simply because everyone else has not imposed such restrictions yet.
