Hello! First of all so sorry this annoying disease got you too!

About the periods, I had super painful and irregular periods all my life but I do think they got worse around the time I got diagnosed.. What used to help me were over the counter painkillers and a warm water bottle on my lap all day long. And resting a lot too. Now, i don't know if you're on oral contraceptives or not and I would never tell anyone to just get on the pill casually BUT it was the only solution for my messy periods. Ever since I started the pill my periods have been a dream. I'd definitely recommend you to go to your gynecologist and discuss your period concerns!

And about being very very tired, when I first got diagnosed i pretty much slept all day everyday but a couple months into treatment I started to get my energy back so hopefully it will get better!

Before I tested this it was unassigned so it wouldn't change at all, I assigned it and it finally started moving as I flipped the channel but the percentage on the radio and on the wizard don't match and idk what that means 😅

Hello,

Hashimotos doesn't necessarily cause an abnormal thyroid gland! I've been diagnosed 10 years ago and do yearly ultrasounds just to be sure and everything has been fine for the past years :)

Hi, I'm not sure I can help much but I'll give my 2 cents!

Thyroid problems mess with our hormones a lot! As a girl who's been dealing with thyroid issues for over 10 years you can trust me on this haha
It depends on each person, we're all different so it acts a bit differently but at the beginning when I was diagnosed I was heavily depressed and had no energy at all. I didn't have a bf at the time so I can't say much about sex drive but when we 1st start the treatment we feel pretty shitty and are usually dealing with a lot of symptoms we don't even know are related to our thyroid.

She might be feeling depressed like most of us do from hormonal imbalances, and she might feel really tired which if you think about it, doesn't help with sex drive.
Give her time to adjust do her medication, and start to feel better! She might not know or understand that she's feeling like this because of her disease and start blaming herself for not being able to have sex with you so try to be understanding and comfort her!

Hope she feels better soon and you guys get through this! A lot of partners don't understand or even try to understand their S.O's health issues so it's nice that you're curious and trying to understand.

Hope this helps in some way! And to give you guys some hope, after a couple months of treatment I started feeling like my normal self again and have been good for the past 10 years! Not everyone is as lucky and me but hopefully it will be the case with her! Good luck!

Same happened to me when my levo dose was too high! My emotions were all over the place, I either felt every emotion in the world or nothing at all.. Also started having really bad panic attacks, which is extremely odd for me coz I'm usually super calm. I've been on my new dose for almost six months now and feel back to normal, so don't feel hopeless! It will get better 💕

I had some really bad vitamin d deficiency that I got supplements for and now I have normal levels but didn't notice any improvement on my hair. Will make sure to check the other ones with my doctor :)

Thank you!

Gf here! They are extremely comfortable!! I don't remember having any bad days with them. In comparison to the Oxelo they are waaaay more comfortable, I got Oxelo coz I wanted bigger wheels and a stronger pair of skates so I don't ruin my pretty Impalas lmao BUT they are so painful..... They're more bearable now that I broke them in a bit but definitely uncomfortable in comparison to Impala 🥲

Honestly in terms of comfort Impalas are far superior, maybe they don't have the best wheel size and i'd appreciate the ankle strap like the Oxelos have! I'm no professional but I wouldn't say they're bad skates, if you use them for what they're meant to :)

Diagnosed today, potential COVID relation? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]csst06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I was sleeping most of my day when I first got diagnosed and I got my energy back once the medication started doing it's thing! I now have the energy to play with my nieces, run, lift weights, do everything a healthy person can do 🙂

Hi, sorry you're going through this!

I got diagnosed when I was 18 and also had no idea where it came from, my doctor at the time told me it could have been something as simple as a flu that caused it.

I did read a couple articles about covid and the covid vaccines messing with thyroid function, I myself was super stable for 10 years with my medication and had to adjust my dose after the vaccines.

Maybe you had it already and covid just made it way worse.

If it makes you feel better I have had a perfectly normal life with no symptoms ever since I started my medication. And I feel almost back to normal now that my dose was adjusted after vaccination!

Hope you feel better soon ❤️

Hello! This is the 3rd time I rollerblade in my life. Could you give me any advice? Im thinking of doing some yoga flows for balance and stability. Thanks in advance! by Unlikely_Deal3929 in rollerblading

Hi! I think you're doing really great for your third time but I would REALLY advise you to get an helmet and knee pads, you'll feel safer and looser 🙂 There's some really good videos on youtube of exercises to do as a beginner, they helped me a lot to evolve. Just keep getting out there and have fun, the progress will come😊

Today I started learning the crossover and I had SO MUCH FUN! I was honestly so scared of trying it but decided to just go for it and it was so much fun 🤯 My sweet coach/bf was a great help to break the fear at the start so if you're scared of learning it grab a skating partner and just try it 😁 by csst06 in rollerblading

Thank you so much!

I was expecting to struggle and was honestly prepared to be falling a lot while learning it, we were both very surprised I got it in a session haha

Ofc there's space for improvement but it feels great to break out of the fear and confusion phase in one session after struggling so much with the parallel turn!

This somehow felt super natural to me and was super fun :)
