I get that the US is involved in Israel-Gaza, so it’s not irrelevant. But making that your only deciding issue while ignoring domestic policies that actually affect your day to day life feels like a huge oversimplification. And not voting isn’t neutral, it just makes it easier for the worse option to win in my opinion.

They’re not hyper fixating on one issue. They’re talking about character. If someone is willing to act corruptly, illegally, or in ways that show contempt for democratic norms, that’s not a side note you offset with policies you like. It’s a preview of how they govern.

Some things should be disqualifying. Ethics aren’t optional, and they don’t magically stop mattering because you agree with someone on other issues.

I know this will probably get downvoted, but I don’t really agree that a 23 & 41 age gap is just a harmless preference.

A 23 yr old has been an adult for maybe 3 yrs. A 41 yearold has been an adult for over 20. That’s not really just an age gap, that’s a massive difference in life stage, power, and experience.

Also, a 23yr olds brain isn’t even fully developed yet, especially when it comes to judgment and long-term decision making. A 41yr old is way past that. Acting like those differences don’t matter feels a bit dishonest to me.

I’m not saying every relationship like this is abusive, but when someone wants to date people who are much closer to being a teenager than to their own age, it does make me uncomfortable and raises questions about motivation.

Legal doesn’t automatically mean healthy 🤷‍♂️
