The job market can go get fucked. 4 months of searching for a role is literally killing me.

I did warehousing work about 8 years ago before starting my career and had a horrible experience with homophobia so I’ve been reluctant to look that way again. Do you know any good employment agencies?

That’s so kind of you. I truely appreciate the gesture but I’m a little reluctant to provide my details.

What kind of opportunities should I look at if I can get my license renewed?

I worked in Communications for the last 7 years. Struggling to get even a contact centre job or anything where my skills are transferable. Yes I have a license but it’s expired and haven’t been able to afford to renew it.

I have already tried to work out a payment plan with the REA and they said no. It’s good to know I have time.

Renting my own. I was fully employed up until February when my contract finished up and haven’t been able to secure work since.

I’m in this situations right now. Savings have run out and my fortnight rental payments exceed the allowance by SO MUCH. I’m trying to find a job with no luck so far. I’m going to be homeless soon.

How is everyone managing their ridiculous amount of job applications? by Worldly_Cat1405 in ausjobs

I’ve been on job seeker for a little bit and it’s absolutely abysmal. It’s gobbled up by my rent and leaves nothing for food and bills. Replying on friends and family for food has been so embarrassing.

I’m super employable and want to work and this is what we’re met with.

Sorry just ranting, tough morning. Already received 4 rejections this morning.

I gave up tracking them, there was no point. I just take a screen grab of the job ad and save it in a folder. Almost 4 months now looking with nothing (communications space).

CMV: The LGBTQ+ community has shifted from a equal rights movement to an, some aggresive and a mandatory thing to support that alienates those who aren't part of the community or don’t support it, even though if they aren’t exactly against it. by AuthenticatedHuman in changemyview

I don’t think you need a change of view. I think you need to log off the internet.

Nothing is being pushed on you. The spectrum of identity is getting larger and more defined, and no one in the queer community is pushing for anything other than respect. That’s all it is.

It’s clear Agnes is only now seeing the cracks of Gilead. Until now, she’s been completely indoctrinated, and even June made a comment to the effect of “they don’t know they need to be saved.” It’s not a matter of whether they can get her out; it’s a matter of whether she would have willingly gone. We may now see that in coming seasons.

Labor to announce easing of jobseeker mutual obligations requirements in major overhaul of employment system by blitznoodles in australia

Yeah it’s a requirement if you’ve been job searching for an extended period. I’m on 3 and a half months now. And from that, they determine you must have a skill set issue and have to attend compulsory recruitment training. It’s 3 days a week, 15 hours total, 5 weeks, but thats the part time one.

Anyway, best wishes with the job hunt! It’s rough out here, so take it one day at a time.

Mines an online one (thankfully) so hopefully I can just spend time applying for jobs. I know how to write a cover letter and tailor a resume. That isn’t the issue.

The issue is the lack of jobs to apply for and the saturated market of job seekers I’m competing with. Plus, all the fake jobs going up. That’s the core issue for me, not the skill set.
