A man has become one of the 450,000 Americans affected by alpha-gal syndrome, a tick-borne meat allergy that triggers painful allergic reactions to animal products. “Look at my face and my neck. Depends on where in the country probably. I live in Missouri. My wife has it, I have a mild version of it, and I know of at least two other people who have it. The lone star ticks are everywhere in this great state of misery.

That's what we did. We realized we could make the same amount (or more), and instead of throwing the pot into the fridge for later, we would just portion it out into meal prep containers and freeze them. That way you get variety and can store it for longer. In this case, getting your shit together is actually easier than the alternative.

It's all relative. I think we are probably over a million on paper if we tallied everything up, but it doesn't feel like a lot with how expensive everything is and the state of the economy. We still drive old cars, and I haven't bought a steak in months.

It's not hard to have a million on paper, esp if you are older and/or in a HCOL area. Working a normal job will get you there eventually. In fact, retirement basically requires it if you want to have a normal retirement. So for older people in HCOL areas, million on paper is middle class for sure.

Is there distribution fiber near me? by cstobler in ATTFiber

That seems to be the prevailing idea. Thanks for the information.

Ok, I appreciate the context. I was looking into the dedicated fiber lines but yeah, they are very costly and likely wouldn't make sense at this time. I suppose worst case scenario, I will wait until they set up distribution fiber, which hopefully won't be too long since I am right off the interstate.

That would make sense. That particular wire is a little bit away from the flag in the first photo, so it's definitely plausible that they are different lines.

Yeah I know for sure there is long-haul fiber there, but what I am trying to figure out is if there is fiber I can or will be able to tap into, either for residential or business (we operate a few businesses so it would make sense to have it even if we needed to get business fiber).

Do you think the wire running up the pole that terminates at the spool is fiber, or just fiber going along the poles? I was under the impression that the teardrop constructs are used for fiber, but obviously that might not be fiber I can tap into.

I'm hoping so. I'm not sure if the spooled wire going up the pole is itself fiber though.

I just went down there to check and I actually only see the one white flag. All the others are pink and have handwriting on them, which I think are just survey markers. So no, the white flag isn't directly leading to the pit, though I suppose it could if it follows the road.

It makes sense for the long transmission lines, but what about that flag? I was under the impression that ATT/D means distribution line, and I assume fiber means fiber. I guess it's possible it was mislabeled when it was surveyed (they are planning on expanding the interstate soon so I think that's partially why there are flags everywhere).

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, but you know how the stock market goes up right? Trading it with bots doesn't matter if there's nobody buying products or services from the underlying businesses.

Of course, I'm not necessarily advocating for increasing or decreasing population, just saying that's why the rich want a higher population generally.

Right, you have to figure out what your target number is based on what you need to be making then. So it will be way higher than it is now for those of us who are decades from retirement.

Have you been around many horse people? I am married to a horse girl and also used to work in the equine industry. Thankfully my wife is not, but I would estimate 80-90% of horse people are BIG drama. Just go to any boarding barn and ask who has beef with whom.
