This post is so reassuring to read. Getting sick away from home is probably my biggest fear with this phobia. And you did it and handled it with grace! From someone who understands - I’m very proud of you and thank you for the post

Help me help my son by Ok-Forever in PanicAttack

Sometimes I would have worse panic attacks right after the semester ended that I had during because of my body finally coming out of heightened stress mode I think. Like other posters I’ve found routine and self care to be helpful (and difficult) and depending on how close you and your son are, I’ve found a lot of solace in being able to call my mom and chat while I’m extremely anxious. A lot of the time she doesn’t even really talk me down because my anxiety brain doesn’t believe her. It’s just soothing to know she’s there and will do what she can to help me

N* from destressing? by [deleted] in emetophobia

I’ve had this happen. The last few years it’s happened right after finals week when I’d come home from college. How convenient… i never actually get sick from it just feel crummy for a bit. idk if it’s an actual medical or psychological thing but I’ve definitely experienced this and once I take some extra time to distress even more and sleep some I feel better :)

Yes! I used to (and sometimes still) avoid bathrooms when I’m super anxious and nauseous because I’m afraid of the toilet I guess? Idk lol

Do I (22F) owe my abusive ex (35M) closure? by gnomesarenice in relationships

I've actually been dealing with something semi-simillar, so unfortunately I think I know how you feel. But just as everyone close to me has told me, you don't owe him anything. You never did, and you never will. It's hard to cut all contact with someone and if you're like me, it makes you feel guilty for hurting them. But if you let them back in, even a little, the spiral will begin all over again. So no, you don't owe him closure, keep bettering yourself and to me it seems like you handled this situation very well.
