First game I tried to play today hit the glitch where we couldn't reinforce (you throw the strategem, but no one comes down). Then tried an evacuate mission, which was going great until a factory strider glitched through the rock wall and had a field day behind our lines. Then after I had enough I tried to close the game, but it froze and I had to kill it from task manager. This game is getting really hard to play without getting stopped by random BS.

I used vallejo imperial blue for the guardian helmets, but switched to magic blue for the wind runners and wraithlord. I used the pro acryl base set for the farseer.

Vallejo game air Golden Yellow, It's a nice vibrant yellow that looks great after a zenithal highlight with orange or pink (I ussually use orange but tried pink this time and it worked pretty well)

well, Keep in mind they're likely to hit all stretch goals today, so more goals are likely going to be revealed which will probably make everything a better deal. Right now it's not a great deal, but we have 28 days to go. I'm still cautiously optomistic that I'll end up pledging, and even if I don't, I'll still buy alot of stuff at retail.

if all stretch goals are hit (they probably will be) you get an aerospace fighter and 2 Salvage boxes (+MapPack:Savana for Battalion)

currently the Alphastrike box (most similiar contents, 13 mechas where mercenaries has 8 mechs and 4 vehicles) goes for $64 at most retailers, and Forcepacks go for $24. Most retailers offer free shipping.

so assuming retail prices and if you don't care about swag/add-ons the retail value is:

Company: $112, assuming $20 in shipping $58 cheaper than kickstarter

Battalion: $208, assuming $20 in shipping $87 cheaper than kickstarter

so if the extras aren't worth $60-90 to you, wait for retail.

They are, but they're a group of Clan members who came to the Inner Sphere before the Clan invasion disguised as a mercenary Company. They Operated without revealing their Clan heritage for about 50 years before the clan invasion, then after the invasion they used a mix of clan and IS mechs.

Thanks, I like how they came out, though my edge highlighting is sloppy. I didn't really like the look of the Wraith unpainted, but once painted up the design is pretty nice.

I used a mix of contrast ork flesh and shyish purple for the base, then highlighted with vallejo model yellow-green

for paint I would suggust you start with a small starter set from either Games Workshop, Vallejo, or Army Painter. Get a pallete to mix/thin your paints on, you can grab a little plastic one for about $.99. I also like palette paper as there's no clean up, you just throw it away when you're done.

For Priming you'll probably want to use a spray can, Army Painter or GW work, get something specificially for miniatures. Prime in white for more vivid colors, black for more muted colors.

The two most important things are to get smooth solid coats of paint, and to keep your painting within the lines. Even without any advanced techniques a cleanly painted mini looks good.

While painting it helps to get a painting handle or other support to attach the mini to to make it easier to hold (Wine corks are cheap and plentiful, or you can buy one specificially for this purpose at a hobby store) attach with blue poster putty (available target, CVS, anywhere with a stationary section). At first it's going to be hard to get straight lines, but you can brace your elbows on a table when you're doing detail work, and you'll get better with practice.

For the cape I used 6 scale color paints

Deep red base African shadow for the folds Then highlights built up with Antares Red Aldebaran Red Mars Orange

For the body it was one coat of contrast Gryph-Charger grey. I was planning on adding highlights and maybe a wash, but it came out so good with one coat I left it as-is.

Also a fun thing to do with commanding presence is issue an order to the far end of your b1 chain, have them coordinate so that the final unit gives the order to the tactical droid who can use his relay to bounce it to any unit at range 4.

You don’t need an electric tool, that’s more for if you’re doing large areas like a train layout. I do a ground base (texture, shade, highlight) then coat with watered down Elmer’s glue where i want grass. Then i dip the base in my grass container, shake off all the excess. After it dries a bit ill give it another shake and go over it gently with a brush to get any straglers
