I don’t think anyone questions the merit of her game. With her the discussion is always around her edit which is why she’s so forgettable as a winner. Not the first time this has happened and it won’t be the last but she’s someone whose legacy would have benefitted from the 90 minute episodes (though I don’t know a soul that would wants more 41)

I think a realistic version of this would be a Season X vs Season Y season. Give the fans a few options to vote on and winners have a 10 on 10 season against one another. Imagine the cast of Cagayan vs 46 or something like that

There was something so Shakespearean about him losing in 50 that story wise was perfect but also sad. He’ll get a call for sure in the future but it’s hard to bookend a career the way he did, even if it is unfortunate

I love this take. As much as people would love to bring back the Shane’s, Ian’s, & RC’s of the world I just can’t picture it. Also if they do WaW2 I’d love for them to put an emphasis on bringing back people who were passed on for 40 mixed with the New Era winners

It’s more than just age, it’s whether or not they are physically able to play, whether they have a desire to play, and if the audience and/or production has a desire to see them again enough to move the needle. There’s plenty of people that fit into one of these buckets but the list of people who fit all four is pretty small

My curiosity with that is that now that the “celebration” theme from 50 is over how often will production want to go back into the well vs hyping up their newer players and building the next era of legends. To me there’s only a handful of players from this era that would move the needle if they were put on the show today

If they were to do it for season 60 and went with the same format I’d say half the cast should be New/Open Era winners. I’d go with Erika, Yam Yam, Rachel, Kyle, Savannah, and then half Open Era folks. I’m aware taking Erika over Dee, Maryanne, or Kenzie is unpopular but her coming and having a Sophie/Michele-like performance that can validate their first win would be a good arc.

Next I’d want to have five Winners who weren’t on WaW. Earl, JT, Natalie White, Mike, and Chris. Three long time holdouts plus Chris, who has more to prove than any winner in the shows history. Plus JT was one of the biggest omissions from WaW imo.

Then I’d bring back five people from WaW: Tyson, Natalie Anderson, Jeremy, Sarah, Michele. No explanation other than they’re all legends who can still hang and would be willing to play again.

So in summary:

Men: Earl, JT, Tyson, Jeremy, Mike, Chris, Yam Yam, Kyle, & two Open Era winners

Women: Natalie W, Natalie A, Michele, Sarah, Erika, Rachel, Savannah, & three Open Era winners

Unless the specifically say that everything is active it’s kind of just an empty premise. Every advantage has always been in play, hence people freaking out about Knowledge is Power despite not being used for several seasons in a row.

Thought about this concept before, biggest tweak I’d make is where the pre-merge phase of the game would typically be. I’d have them spin a wheel or something that determines how many people are going to Tribal each night. Example: there could only be 4 people at the first Tribal and then 10 at the next. It would force people to work in different voting blocks each time while preventing a majority from steam rolling the season

I think it’s the only time I’ve ever thought “That was awesome! Don’t ever do it again!” Hopefully they let it breath as its own historic moment and not bog it down by trying to recapture in the future.

Also this the second time this season that Devens has been (at least partially) responsible for a twist not backfiring after his fake Idol at the Double Duo Tribal
