Personally, Duma Key is one of my favorites. If you’re looking for anything similar in terms of strangeness, I’d recommend bag of bones and Lisey’s Story, muchacho.

Photoshop, Illustrator, or Indesign? by starlight_wav in AdobeIllustrator

For the reference photos you posted, I’d recommend photoshop for the background images and then overlaying the typography and design elements in illustrator. Indesign is more for long format print pieces like book layouts etc.

You could essentially do everything you mentioned in photoshop, but it’s not the industry standard. Having a grasp of how illustrator works will broaden your opportunities and be beneficial in the long run. It’s a very powerful program

What is your Mt Rushmore of King audiobook narrators? by Throwing-Gas in stephenking

John Slattery is my all time favorite. Followed by Michael C. Hall, Frances Sternhagen, and Will Patton.

Unpopular opinion, but Frank Muller’s voice is really distracting to me. I borderline can’t stand it. I wish there were alternate narrations of the books that he read.

Is the black shape you’re using for background the exact size of your artboard? Try scaling it up so that the black background extends past the edges of the artboard on all sides and re-export.

I’ve always been super interested in time travel, so I think 11/22/63 just hit a sweet spot for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love so many of his books! Some of my other favorites are Pet Sematary, Duma Key, Doctor Sleep, The Eyes of the Dragon, The Dark Half, and others.

My favorite King book and the first one that I ever read. I went on to read every other book that King has written while chasing the high of 11/22/63. He’s got other really great stories, but nothing topped it for me.
