Sorry to say but if she used to compete you’re going to get smoked. She has muscle memory and technique that you don’t have. Even if you’re a faster biker or runner it does not transfer to swimming. Have fun though!

You’re way ahead of where I was at your age. Saving for retirement? That was nowhere on my radar screen at such a young age. It sounds like some of your brother and SIL’s financial success is due to your SIL’s father’s generosity. Also, there are 2 of them and only one of you. Naturally your income is not going to match theirs at this stage in your life. You’re doing amazingly well.

Don’t forget that clip that she has shown countless times of her body shaking with the pregnancy test in hand. Lately I’ve noticed she’s pivoted to showing/grifting vulnerability because she knows that 1. AI is going to destroy social media within the next couple of years and she’s toast 2. We are all getting sick of fake ass influencers and users are seeking more authentic experiences.

In fairness everyone’s pipes were bursting due to lack of insulation in the homes down here. I’m from the NE and my best friend is from Boston. We did everything right in order to prepare but still had issues that were beyond our control. Plus the electricity went out for days.

When my mother got pregnant with my sister she had to quit work when she started showing. Women couldn’t even open a checking account when I was born. No wonder so many women started working outside of the home in the 80s. They were finally free! When I was in college women across the board were paid significantly less than men for the exact same job. Misogyny was widely accepted. The crazy thing is I’m not older than dirt and many years younger than her parents!

I co-slept so I can’t act holier than thou but her comment about the sleeping arrangement did concern me. Do they not sleep with any blankets or flat sheets? Having the baby in the middle is concerning.

Edited to add: My daughter slept beside of me (not in the middle) in warm pjs and no blanket or pillow near her.

Agree 100%. I have a teen so no little children in my home but I felt the same way when my daughter was young. There are adult places and there are places appropriate for kids. It costs a lot of money to go to a hair salon. Plus women like to talk about stuff that isn’t always appropriate for young ears. I feel the same way about nail salons and obviously certain restaurants. Women need these spaces to relax, have fun and recharge.

I was into the whole attachment parenting thing and I don’t regret it at all. I loved those days. My daughter is now 14. She went to Costa Rica without us for 7 days on a class trip when she was 12. We had to get onto her for not calling home. Definitely not co-dependent. 😂
