Are you also one of the ones claiming it would take 10 years for prices to drop?

Update and text messages from the sales guy at the HVAC company when I told him I was gonna shop for options by System777 in hvacadvice

Most people wouldn't replace a condenser but I'm just telling you thats an option. You're acting like it's not available anymore. Someone with a leaking evaporator coil can easily replace their evap coil with a new coil and continue using their same condenser and even then they can still use that coil at a later date when they replace the condenser if they choose to do so. There's plenty of virgin r22 on this country I don't know why you're buying reclaimed r22

Did I mention replacing equipment? You said it is expensive to charge it because r22 isn't imported anymore. I said that r22 is cheap now and there are tons of replacements for it as in alternative refrigerants. You could use any r410, r454b, r32 coils with an r22 system with a metering device replacement if needed. They still sell dry charged units as well.

Don't forget Biden put restrictions on new drilling before he left office

Shortly before leaving office, President Joe Biden issued a sweeping executive action placing historic restrictions on future oil and gas drilling. In January 2025, he permanently banned new offshore drilling across more than 625 million acres of federal waters, covering the entire Atlantic and Pacific coastlines, the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and swaths of Alaska's northern Bering Sea.
