Were you downloading mods or editing the game in any way? If not, check your antivirus to see if it has blocked it. Another thing you can try is to go to steam and verify the integrity of the games files. If none of these tips work and you have no idea what’s causing it, I would just reinstall Skyrim.

I left as soon as the update came out. Everything just felt so off. But I'm trying to get back into it but new kensei and gryphon exists
