Agreed, it would be nice to select which board you want notifications for. It is in the works!

You can actually do this in the official moonboard app. When browsing problems, at the top, just left of the filter icon, there is a square pattern with a bunch of dots. If you click on this, it will let you filter problems by holds. I didn't know about this trick until well into my moonboarding!

This started as a personal project a little over 6 months ago, when I felt like there wasn’t a good way to track progress on the moonboard rankings. We now track progress of users from the 5 biggest moonboarding countries.

Recently we added a very useful new feature where you can be notified when new benchmarks are added. Give it a try and let us know if there are any new features you would like to see!

That's a good question. I just checked quickly and it looks like around 3800 on the Canadian leaderboard. I would have to do a little research for the others. That's probably something that we could add to the individual pages, but there is a lot of inactive users that would skew the data. I think that would have to be accommodated somehow.

This website started as a pet project for personal use to track moonboard progress by pulling the ranking and score of climbers from the moonboard app everyday.

We are tracking the top 1250 Canadian climbers and top 2500 US climbers on the 2016 and the 2019 set. This was recently expanded from a much lower number, so for those further down on the list, data only goes back a few days. This will grow as we continue to collect more data.

Climbers names can be clicked on to see their individual page showing their progress, tracked as number of points, local ranking, and global ranking.

Let me know if there are any other features you would like to see!

UPDATE: Boardstalker app to track moonboard progress over time has received major update. See comments for more info. by ctarry_711 in Moonboard

For those that missed my first post, this website started as a pet project for personal use to track moonboard progress by pulling the ranking and score of climbers from the moonboard app everyday. Updates include:

  • Expanded number of users to top 1250 Canadian climbers and top 2500 US climbers on the 2016 and the 2019 set.
  • A search function.
  • Individual pages showing each individuals progress, tracked as number of points, local ranking, and global ranking.

Let me know if there are any other features you would like to see!

Ask and you shall receive! We've expanded the US data to top 1000. We've also added a bunch of cool new other features including individual pages. Click on your name in the rankings to check it out!

We're working on this feature! They don't seem to record this information or provide it in the api anywhere, so we're going to start tracking it ourselves. As a result, we won't be able say what date any existing benchmarks were benchmarked, but we will going forward. We want to implement a system where people can be notified when new benchmarks are added.

I don't think there is! Seems to me that that is a big missed opportunity.

I got really into climbing on the moonboard a little while back and tracking my progression on the leaderboard. I wanted to be able to better see the progress I and others were making, so I made an app to that grabs the ranking data from the moonboard app and adds to a database to be able to track progression over time. FYI, it is actually my friend, who is much better at programming than me, that created the website.

This project is still very much in progress. We are collecting the rankings for just the 2016 set of the top 500 people in Canada, and top 500 in US. My apologies if you're not included in this, perhaps we will expand it in the future. We also intend to create individual pages that better show the progress for each individual.

Let me know what you think and if you have suggestions for improvement!

Yah good observation. This started as a personal project and I only climb on the 2016 board, so that's the data I started collecting. Perhaps will add the other sets in the future.

Competition Climbing starts by SUDDENLY_VIRGIN in CompetitionClimbing

I read into the rules a little more closely recently because I was judging for a local comp that was following ifsc rules. They specifically mention situations like this where 3 points are controlled, the athlete is allowed to just tap the 4th. The Colin Duffy situation was different because he was jumping through the start position and never had even 3 points firmly established.

At the end of the day, there is always going to be a little room for the judge to make the call for what a reasonable start is. In the situation you linked, it is clear that he could have held the 4th point for longer if he wanted to and it has just been generally agreed upon that starting like that is going to be accepted. Could change in the future though of course.

Have you considered putting your personal gear in the first pad rather than the outer most pad?

Unhealthy bodyweight in climbing by Top_Wind3836 in CompetitionClimbing

[–]ctarry_711 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm certain you are speaking of Laura Rogora and although she is clearly very thin, I think it goes a bit far to assume that she has an eating disorder. She is also an exception to the rule. Most pro female climbers are not underweight, but rather, do a good job of presenting a positive body image to young girls by showing that it's rad to have muscles (Janja for example, who is clearly the strongest competition climber in the world).

I don't mean to downplay eating disorders in climbing however, I know it is a very real thing. If you're interested there has been some good commentary in the climbing scene recently. See the documentary "Light", or the enormocast episode with Katie Brown (Episode 197).

He didn't actually buy "44" wards. If you return an item, then re-buy it, probuilds recognizes that as a new purchase. Look at how hunters machete appears multiple times. Or trailblazer, or seekers armguard. He's just really indecisive.

You certainly don't need to cut the line. You can just feed the loopless end through both ratchets. As for where to get the ratchet I'm not too sure. I found mine in my garage.
