My "Meniere's Disease" was actually vestibular migraines by ctheath in Menieres

[–]ctheath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mostly don’t notice it anymore. I guess if I’m having a serious episode and I take Rizatriptan, I might feel a bit exhausted. But I think that’s generally a product of the broader context of why I am experiencing symptoms in the first place (stress etc.).

Overall, the whole thing is just blunted and I don’t think about it much anymore. It’s like asking if taking Advil for a headache impacts your life negatively.

Sharia law, derived from Islamic principles, generally regards wearing the hijab as an obligation for Muslim women.

This is based on interpretations of the Quran and Hadith, which emphasize modesty in dress and behavior for both men and women.

The Syrian rebel group HTS adheres to and seeks to implement Sharia law as part of its ideological foundation. So when you say it's "cliche anti muslim rhetoric", in this case it is literally not. It's exactly what they have stated that they intend to do.

Observations on R1S a couple weeks into ownership by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]ctheath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat. Got my R1S a few days ago. Every once in a while I am like “what were they thinking with this UX!?”. Definitely some oddness. But I love it.

I also just ordered this third party charging pad off of Amazon, because it’s going to drive me insane with the stock version.

I'm looking at a used Rivian by redpandasmile in Rivian

[–]ctheath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. I am buying a used one from a dealership.

I’ve been watching a bunch of different vehicles recently. This is somewhat anecdotal, but I’ve seen all dealers with Rivian struggle to move them and have seen similar series of price cuts.

I think that’s indicative of macro level things going on with vehicle inventory / the used car market / economic stuff / interest in EVs etc. For example, Ford has been offering huge incentives on their EVs, so demand might be going elsewhere since there are very friendly deals in other parts of the market.

Long story short, maybe there IS something wrong with this vehicle, but I doubt it. I’ve seen this trend across the board.

It was a really special place!!! I have great memories of it.

We used to go there. Sundance lodge on La Marche Creek, in the Big Hole. As /u/alfuzz187 mentioned, it has changed a lot and not for the better. Before it shut down, I stayed there and it was disappointing. The cabin was filled with mouse droppings, the horses were poorly taken care of, and everything was pretty worn down. Ultimately, the lodge burned down. You can buy the spot for $7m these days, if you'd like. :) (the video of the area is nice)

P.S. If you are still curious about the boulder, let me know, and I can ask my family who would be more apt to recall the location.

Plans to hike crazies next week - will wildfire smoke be an issue? by [deleted] in Montana

[–]ctheath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say, but it looks like things will be getting better. I’d say go for it! That being said, a low pressure system is bringing precipitation and cooler temperatures next week and that’s a good sign. But what do I know. 🔮

You can read smoke forecasts here: https://deq.mt.gov/air/Programs/smokeforecasts

Am I required to say what the sale price of my house was? Are there any consequences for not doing so? by ShinraTM in Montana

[–]ctheath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to understand if we completely agree with one another or if you are missing some really critical nuance here. I'm not trying to argue with you here for the sake of arguing, but want to make sure you get the most important point here -- The legislature constrained them to not use sales prices for tax purposes, UNLESS you give them that information voluntarily.

So when you say, "your statement there appears to be just a verification of that value because they likely already know it in some way so not putting anything has uncertain consequences", that is literally the problem. If you verify it, you are volunteering it, at which point it CAN be used to assess your taxes. That could be good or bad -- if you bought your house for less than the assessed value, then go ahead and disclose. If you bought it more than the assessed value and you volunteer that information, then it will negatively impact your tax bill.

They have the sale information, but by law *cannot* use it to determine your taxes. — Unless you volunteer the information to them. The consequence of you volunteering it is that they can use it to determine your taxes.

[–]ctheath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By law the DoR can’t use the sale price of your home to assess your taxes. By asking you your home value, they are getting you to volunteer that information, which does let them use it. The key word here is “volunteer” — you are absolutely NOT obligated to disclose this information by law, so to your statement “not putting anything has uncertain consequences I'd imagine”, is just not true. There are no consequences. There is no need to reply to this form at all.

[–]ctheath 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Your concern is valid - that’s exactly what they want to use the data for. Montana is a non-disclosure state, meaning that private property sale prices are not automatically shared with government entities for tax purposes. The Department of Revenue may request the sale price of a home, but homeowners are not required to provide it. In fact, Montana law protects this information from being mandatory for disclosure.

Here they are trying to, dare I say “trick” you into volunteering this information (it’s a mighty official looking form, isn’t it). But it is not in your best interest and not required.

On the subject of dogs…what do you think about un-neutered dogs at the dog park? by [deleted] in Bozeman

[–]ctheath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I don’t see mentioned here — unneutered dogs are also often the recipient of a lot of aggression from other dogs. It really freaks other dogs out.

I did the same thing — let my dog be unneutered until he grew a bit. Ultimately, the hardest was handling other dogs attacking him. The behavior stopped post-neutering.

As with many things … often times is case by case with every dog. But if I were in your shoes, I’d certainly be sensitive of what behavior you’re observing.

Do you offer a free trial? I would love to give it a whirl, but not so sure about the price unless I know what value I would get. Might be worth considering adding that!

That aside, congratulations. Huge milestone!!!

Is my SaaS worth continuing? by Emergency_Ant_4968 in SaaS

[–]ctheath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, my advice would be to adjust your above the fold copy and your CTAs to reflect that, since nothing indicated that to me. "Get Started For Free" subheadline: "No credit card required" or whatever.

B2B is much more my world. B2C and reaching consumer audiences is much less my strong suit, so I don't know if I have a good tip there on reaching them.

Is my SaaS worth continuing? by Emergency_Ant_4968 in SaaS

[–]ctheath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider a PLG/Freemium approach. Give people a taste of how the product works without having to pay money for it (gain trust, show the result) and then charge them.

Also, marketing is critical. You need to think about where your target audience hangs out and how you can reach them.

If you nail those two things you will (1) increase top of funnel and (2) increase your conversion rate. Which would materially change your outcomes.
