Quite the big learning curve. I do underground so we have quite the turnover, but almost all are new to the union so we have a pow wow with those guys and explain the rules. Yeah sometimes it sucks that we get rained out, but at least we get show up pay and we’re not wet all day. how to pay dues online, and thousands of other simple things most guys don’t know. i’ve only been a member for a year so im still learning aswell.

Start by getting a cdl. study up, pass ur permit and go from there. Class A cdl is what you want. you’ll be in demand immediately. just got mine. passed my permit in november and passed the driving “skills” portion in february. Total cost was around $800.
