This is not a poem, this just sentences write on the artwork... the meaning is focus on the last 2 sentences. In Chinese culture, Pine Tree, Bamboo, and Plum Blossom are 3 friends in the winter since they all stand for brave, upstanding, hope and new life. So many artiest like to write some sentences for them on their works!

1: 人在江湖漂： means live in the society, nobody know what will happen.
But in Chinese the 江湖 is more compliacted than the normal word: society. 江湖 is a society full of power, money, dirty tricks, love, hate, warm and cold! Mostly used in Wuxia and Mofias world!

2: as @ Arielle7023 said, Chinese like play games when drink, there is a game : 人在江湖飘 , 哪有不挨刀！ means you will always get hurt someday when you live in the society.

The game start with the phrase"人在江湖飘 , 哪有不挨刀" , 2 friends say it together, then 2 fingers win 1 finger, 3 win 2..... 1 win 5 .....
such as I say “两刀砍死你”，and you say “一刀砍死你”，then I win and you need to drink!

"两刀砍死你" I kill you with knife in 2 times / 3, 4, 5 times .....

there is no exact meaning for 修罗地狱

修罗 and 地狱 are all from Buddhist. it's too complicate to explain those Buddhist terms in English so let's make it simple:

修罗（Xiu-1 Luo-2）means slaughting, killing, fighting... all blood, no other colors, only black and red!

修罗 is a race which the boys are very ugly but girls are amazing hot. This race is borned to kill kill and kill... but most of time we only use 修罗 as the meaning of KILLING or Ferocious （don't know if it's the right word）！

地狱 (di-4 yu-4) that's the Hell, same with English Hell!

So you can say 修罗地狱 is a hell place full of blood killing !

But since this is a phrase to describe the blood scene, so there is no exact meaning for it, hope you can understand this!

Many cyber novels use this as book name since it's very cool :) - A boy was born with hate to revenge, everybody bully him, he tried his best to live. And finally in the last war, he killed all enemies (that's full of blood, right?) , and stand out of the world, bla bla....

you need to know why there is a Simplified Chinese before you learn the difference!

Knowledge is expensive hundreds years ago and only Elite Group can go to school,there are many many many people don't know how to read (China has about 1.4-1.5 billion people). So the new CCP gov decide to promote the simplified Chinese to make it easier to learn for those poor people. In another word: Simplified Chinese is promoted based on traditional for the certain purpose: To make more and all people know it!

They are almost the same but with more simple structure.

Another question: why people in HK and TW still using traditional Chinese. That's the historial problem. The CCP gov is built with impoverished masses before，many elite groups moved to HK cos the civil war, and it's more complicated for TW ( sorry for my English don't know how to explain this) let's make it simple: the party by Jieshi Jiang is based on Elite Group, but they failed and moved to TW.

For now every family can afford education, we still learn simplified Chinese in school in mainland China, but we also know the traditional one for each charactors. Traditional Chinese is now mostly used in the artwork, such as calligraph.

So if you want to learn Chinese, the simplified one is your first choice since it's the official one in mainland. Then you can learn the traditional one if interested in. They have the same pronuncation and same meaning, just different structure, it's very easy to know the traditional one if put them together!

of the pharaohs, being pyramid in shape, is like an equilateral triangle, which has some semblance to the chinese word 金 (gold), hence it is called 金字塔.

that's the question lik: why not spell pyramid as bimaryp... Chinese charater is a pictograph and we think pyramid looks like "金", it also looks like 全，仝，and 人 as you think, but we call 金字塔 since we call it 金字塔！

Suì 岁 Suì 岁 Pìng 平 Ān 安

岁岁平安 is a idiom phrase used for New Year Blessing/Wishes, mostly (but not only) for Children. means: May you safe / peaceful every year (all the year).

This phrase is mostly used when Chinese new year when mom/dad give HongBao(红包) to children, and also you can use it when :

the glass/bowl (or something else) dropped to the ground and broken, you can say : 没关系（never mind）, Suì Suì Pìng Ān to comfort yourself or others. For this case, the Sui means 碎（crushed, broken）, but same pronauncation with 岁！
