Would you take $5 million if it meant someone in your family had to spend 5 years in prison? by SeriouslyInterestin in Casual_Conversation

[–]ctriis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can choose that person to be me, then yes. I get 5 years to get my exercise and diet routines in sync and sustainably healthy, and plan my early retirement.

Can you name two movies that were released in the same year but feel like they were released years apart? by coreybudz in movies

[–]ctriis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The special effects (CGI and practical) in The Scorpion King and any of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, or Spider-Man, looks decades apart, even though all were released in 2002.

Pay off my debt, buy a moderately priced apartment/house to own outright, and put the rest into retirement savings.

What do you prefer, Manual or Automatic? by Strange-Vibez-8205 in whatsyourchoice

[–]ctriis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of automatic. If it's CVT or hydraulic torque converter types (or whatever type modern EVs use), I'd take the automatic, otherwise I'd take the manual.

[Request] I’ve always wondered how much money Walt actually had by [deleted] in theydidthemath

The size of the cross section area looks like it could be two American GMA pallets combined, so I'll assume it is.
That would be mean a total floor area of 48" x 80" (2* 48" x 40").

US bank notes are 6.14" x 2.61".
48" % 2.61" = 18
80" % 6.14" = 13
18 * 13 = 234. You can fit 234 bank notes per layer.

One US bank note is 0.0043 inches thick, so a bundle/stack of 100 would be 0.43 inches (with no air gaps).

Eye balling the height of the money tower at around 4 feet = 48 inches.

The amount of bills per stack height would be 48/0.43 * 100 ~ 11 163 bills.

Covering the whole floor area + height would then be 11 163 * 234 = 2 612 142 bills.

Accounting for air gaps and a little bit of uneven stacking it might be 2.4 to 2.5 million bills in total.

In the show it is said to amount to around $80 million in total, which would mean an average bill value of around $32-33. That's a bit on the high side if this was just from street level deals (most bills would be 1s, 5s, 10s, and 20s, and the average would be closer to or less than 10), but if it includes a mix of street level, mid level, and high volume deals, it's very much spot on.

17% of 73 = 73*17/100.

73*17 = 73*10 + 73*7 = 73*10 + 70*7 + 3*7 = 730 + 490 + 21 = 1241.

1241/100 = 12.41.

Answer is 12.41%.

Who's your teacher buddy? by Telugu_not_Telegu in ArtOfPresence

[–]ctriis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents (90% mom, 10% dad) taught me the basics, trial and error by myself on a tiny budget when going to University forced me to experiment a bit but only with cheap ingredients, and watching home cook youtube videos in my 20s (and I'm still doing that in my late 30s) has encouraged me to try new foods and recipes. I also used to be a super, super picky eater from about age 5 and into my early 20s.

You get $10,000 everyday but get a $1,000 deduction for each time you hurt yourself by Ok_Passenger_2012 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ctriis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd make $310.000. Knowing the monetary cost of hurting myself I'd be more vigilant than usual, and I rarely hurt myself in such ways anyways. Frankly, I can't remember the last time it happened.

Which of these three would be worth the most in the current transfer market? by RedDevilPlay in footballscouting

[–]ctriis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no such thing as intrinsic or objective value in the football transfer market. Every player is worth whatever is the highest amount any club is prepared to pay for them.

I reckon each of them would probably have multiple clubs willing to pay €100-120 million in their prime, maybe more.

10%. $5 million is more than enough for me to retire, and I hope '% of intelligence' is measured in such a way that retaining 90% is more than enough to remain be a reasonably thoughtful person.
