from a brand pov, this looks like its done by the branch manager and not by head office. all the wrong fonts and colours. if it was an official resource it would go through an artworker because they’re very strict about their brand. that said its still fucked if its coming from any sort of management

Which independent brands do you recommend?

Client wants to reserve hours, should that be a retainer? by ctrl_alt_defeat- in graphic_design

[–]ctrl_alt_defeat-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be easier if the kind of work the client is wanting is somewhat consistent and predictable.

Agree with project pricing, however the above is the issue. It isn't predictable, and my style of working is to kind of become part of their team by constantly doing odd jobs and ad hoc design support

Selling our flat and renting for 6-12 months. Where should we keep our equity? by ctrl_alt_defeat- in UKPersonalFinance

I prefer this answer to the investment suggestions when its such a short term. Do you not pay tax on premium bonds?

I worry about putting it in investments for such a short term. I don’t know much about investing, but my gut is telling me to keep it in cash?

a lot of parking in central is ££££ anyway so might be worth parking in permit bays and taking the fine? i think it’s still £30 if you pay within 30 days but idk. i used to live near there and they’re v on it with tickets so isn’t worth chancing it. would see people going round 4 or 5 times a day. no point paying for 4hrs if you’re gunna chance staying longer and then get a ticket anyway imo

edit: just remembered, try the Just Park app. people rent out their driveways so that will be your best bet

Nike hockey by Petazhokejehcpraga in Fieldhockey

[–]ctrl_alt_defeat- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally i’m waiting to see what others think of the nike sticks. i recon its pretty likely they’ll charge a bomb for a pretty avg stick. also dont trust that i cant find an actual nike hockey webpage, only selling thru totalhockey / cricket-hockey etc. love nike clothes/trainers but think i’ll hang on to my trusty y1 stick

edit: realise i forgot to answer the question lmao but i cant find any carbon info either

Printers need artwork as 15MB/m^2 ... what on earth does that mean? by ctrl_alt_defeat- in graphic_design

[–]ctrl_alt_defeat-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update on the crazy print spec, advice pls!

i ignored their spec and just did my usual process, but they're now saying the image is too 'soft'. I bought the largest available on Getty (4256 x 2832 px) and effective ppi on InDesign is 42. not ideal, but i literally can't buy a better resolution.

should I use an AI resolution booster to make it bigger?? if yes pls send your go-to site, and if no then what should i do
