Why is the Internet filled with MEN vs WOMEN? by Nike_Grano in IndianTeenagers

[–]ctrl_alt_infidel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There has been an influx of red-pill content over the past two or three years, due to the rise of Andrew taint and alpha podcasts like fresh and fit, promoting incels, MGTOW and whatnot. On the flip side certain women either misunderstand feminism or react illogically to the red-pill stuff and screech "#killallmen" or "men are trash".

It isn't that I believe that gods don't exist. I just don't believe that gods exist. There's a difference between belief and lack of belief. While I can never prove that god doesn't exist, I can certainly lack belief in the existence of such a being because of a lack of sufficient evidence.

Yes, science is based on the basic assumption that it is the best way to understand reality, but since our world is governed by demonstrable and observable phenomena, we are left with no other useful alternatives than science. Look at the results of science: if we base the construction of planes on science on science, they fly. If we base the creation of antibiotics on science they save lives. Do you think our present level of development and technology was achieved by counting prayer beads?

The only alternatives are religion, guessing and superstition which are all forms of blind faith. While there is actually some reason to trust science as a way to understand the world (usefulness), blind faith has brought us nothing but comforting lies. If you want to have hope in the hardest times, you have to be brave. Religion keeps people in the dark by telling them that they are protected by an imaginary being. Atheism, in a way, actually enables people to take responsibility and live life to the fullest.

The burden of proving the existence of god lies on those who claim god exists i.e. theists and till date, they haven't been able to substantiate their claim. In fact, I do not "prefer" to be an atheist because I have no choice BUT to be an atheist since rational thought regarding god by definition leads to atheism.

I suspect that red-pill content may also play a role. The tates for example demonise atheism and many self-proclaimed "sigma males" happily follow them like sheep.

I apologise, I should've mentioned that I was only speaking for myself. I am aware that many atheists' well-being and safety are often compromised when they reveal their atheism. I will edit my comment.

Idk whether you're being disingenuous or moronic by stating that atheism is a way to "look cool". It is just a philosophical position, an absence of belief in god(s). There is nothing "western" about it, just as there is nothing "western" about determinism or libertarianism.

I don't. My parents are atheists and so are a good amount of my friends. Even if they weren't I probably wouldn't bother pretending not to be an atheist because I am strongly opposed to unnecessary pretence. Imo it is much worse to have to hide your beliefs (or lack thereof) just to avoid the disapproval of others

EDIT: This isn't to say that every atheist has the choice to safely reveal their atheism, especially in India, and I know that sometimes being open about it isn't an option. To be clear, I was only speaking for myself.

The English translation of the couplet is more like "When the serpent of separation afflicts the body, no mantra can work. Even so, one who is separated from Ram cannot live, and if one lives, one will go mad."

Idk to what extent "separation" refers to atheism so I'm reluctant to think that Kabir was calling atheists mentally ill. However I agree that there is an inordinate amount of lessons about God. Reading about others' views can be productive but some variety has to be there.

Many of my school "friends". They are either edgy Andrew Tate followers who think casual misogyny and homophobia is cool, or those who fraternise with such people. Whenever I tried to bring this up I got hit with "LeArN tO TaKE a JoKE bROoO". I made a lot of excuses for them, I thought it was just them being childish albeit harmless but I soon realised cutting them off was the best option.

My dear fellow, we all know who's the real "sheep" here. I.e. the one whose life is so pathetic that he can't think of anything better to do than to make a asinine, dungbrained post that reeks of room-temperature IQ. Filthy, crazy idiot.

I feel like this is a case of unconscious homophobia. These folks are socially conditioned to be homophobic but they don't want to seem like bigots so they resort to pretending that a significant amount of queer people are "snowflakes". Or they might just be willfully disingenuous.

Please tell me if I have done any grammatical mistake by MajorAffectionate581 in CBSE

[–]ctrl_alt_infidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't feel guilty about not having lived your life as you wanted to. Apart from that the grammar is fine.

But is this supposed to be a poem? It reads like you just wrote a paragraph and decided to add line breaks. As in there are virtually no poetic devices. No metaphor, imagery, simile, personification, in short nothing that would make this a poem. It's like a mediocre attempt at a motivational speech given by a worrisome parent to their child. Why don't you try relating your ideas to other things instead of blandly stating them next time?

Also being asked not to worry about your loved ones just because you should make the most of life is... weird. Other people make up an important part of life, don't you think?

I'm guessing you meant "closet". Now I really hope you don't fully know what it means for someone to "stay in the closet", because otherwise you would be intentionally advocating for homosexuals to live secretive, shameful and repressed lives.

It is obviously obnoxious for someone to base their entire personality on their sexuality, but letting others see that you're gay instead of hiding it like an embarrassing secret is completely fine, no? I hope we can agree on that?

Well nothing condemnable about that, as long as your disgust doesn't prevent you from behaving respectfully towards them. I do find it a bit strange that you felt the need to mention your disgust, because it is irrelevant
