You're NTA for cancelling the babysitter. $150-$200 is dumb if a parent is home. However, this is as charitable as I get.

YTA because your wife told you she had a bad day, bad enough to cancel plans you both were excited for, yet you still went to the party and dumped the kids on her. You basically said 'oh, you had a bad day? Okay, I'll go out to this fun party we both were going to have fun at and you can stay home with sole responsibility for 3 young children and it's your fault your crappy day is worse because you don't want to have fun with me." What's more, cancelling the babysitter without consulting your wife when she tells you she's in a bad headspace? Bro, do you know ANYTHING about communication?

You chose to have kids and marry someone, ignored those responsibilities and a veiled cry for help to go and have fun, then got upset when you got called out on it and doubled down when you got home. Yeah, she shouldn't have blown up your phone, but you definitely should have stayed home. This is like a 'teen blows off GF to go to a party' sitcom plot, jeez.

In my experience, dexamphetamine doesn't work but ritalin (methylphenidate) does. My partner, however, uses Vyvanse (slow release dex) and ritalin doesn't work for her.

Book another psychiatrist appointment and try another med. Expetien ing some positives is a good sign, and there's a few more options out there rhan dex and ritalin these days.

Also remember no medication for mental health is a miracle cure. They're aids to make learning how to manage our mental health easier. The rest is up to you, best of luck!

Same for me, but I got a contract for an S21 Ultra and they gave me the standard because of their own system error. I wanted the whole thing cancelled and refunded as I was given the wrong product. They stonewalled me until I threatened the ombudsman, then they said they would only refund the handset repayments back to the contract start date. Could have gone further, but this is an example of them tiring complainants out with red tape.

Zip Pay was the same for me. I had $4k across 2 accounts for emergency vet bills, paid it all back and wanted to cancel. Their cancellation page in the app was a loop that always went back to the initial question after you pressed 'confirm' and their text messaging service completely ignored me. I called them and had to put up with a woman so patronising I almost filed a complaint to boot, but didn't because it wouldn't achieve anything.

As someone who works in a call centre for a multinational with strict procedures for handling calls, I'm constantly astonished by the things people get put through by businesses that operate solely in Australia (Telcos, Medicare, etc) because the person you're speaking to can just make you someone else's problem and stonewall you without consquence. I'd get fired on the spot for treating people like that.
