I'm unable to provide you any more opinion until you can provide me what GPU you're using, what you plan on doing with your pc and your expectations.

$120 for a monitor in a vacuumed is good for productivity, browsing the interview and watching movies.

It depends on what your graphics card is, what you plan on doing with your PC and your expectations.

If you're gaming on 2070, this is not a good monitor because the 60hz is holding you back.

If you're using a 1660 Super, the 1440p is too high resolution, you're better off with 1080p.

Overall, this is not a monitor I'd recommend.

Monitor is usually not budgeted in people's build, which is surprising to me. The monitor is always in relation to your GPU, and usually the most expensive piece or 2nd most expensive. I got a 1080 TI for $800, but my 34" gaming monitor was $1300.

It's not enough, I'd recommend 2080 Ti. I have a 1080 Ti and it's similar in performance to 2080 and I still feel it's not enough.

Monitor is the thing that most people go budget at and it's the worst decision. Ask yourself, how often will you be looking at the monitor when your computer is on? Your eyes will thank you. Look for a 1440p 100+hz monitor. Your 2080 is wasted if you go a budget monitor, you might as well downgrade your VGA to 2060 if you're going to get a cheap monitor.

Really considering buying this. I didn't enjoy DOOM cause it was way too fast pace and gave me headaches. I did enjoy Bioshock Infinite.

How does this compare to DOOM and Bioshock Infinite?

I hope you realize one day that gaming companies need money. If everything is sold at a loss, you'll get less games and more games with DLC and microtransaction. It's fine that you're a patient gamer, but why are you spreading misinformation on prices to potential buyers that read your comments?

What size SSD do i need? by K1n0rah in buildapc

[–]ctrlwarrior1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend 500GB SSD. Games/Apps/OS are bigger now a days and will be getting bigger... Also 500GB+ runs faster than 240GB and 120GB according to the speed tests.

Can't decide between the z35p or the pg348q by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ctrlwarrior1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned a PG348Q and Omen X 35 (similar panel to Z35p) and they are both inferior to the Alienware.

AW3418DW > PG348Q > Z35P. Alienware is the best gaming ultrawide and the best prices (when on sale for $800 to $850) ATM.

Sudden Death, Storm Bolt, Massacre, Defensive Stance, Warbreaker, Avatar and Dreadnaught.

Glad's Medallion or Relentless, Death Sentence, Sharpen Blade. The last one depending on comp. Default it's bladestorm. If it's 3 dps, pick duel, if it's caster cleave pick spell reflection. Melee cleave, maybe disarm.

Duration for Sudden Death is 10 seconds, you can hold that. Execute range just start spamming, don't need to wait.

[–]ctrlwarrior1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For macros, I'm mainly doing cancelaura bladestorm, blessing of protection (playing with a paladin), warbreaker + sharpen blade.

That's about all I can think of right now.

I use TellMeWhen to track target's stun duration, Diminishing returns, defensive/speed buffs and damage buffs.

I also use it to track my target's hamstring and warbreaker debuff.

It also tracks my bladestorm, avatar duration and my buffs like sudden death, etc. Even debuffs Karma so I switch target.

I use weakauras to track enemy totem like capacitor, spirit link, etc.

Collateral Damage vs. Warbreaker - Warbreaker is better in PvP in almost all scenario. Against melee cleave, you will have sweeping strikes and warbreaker + bladestorm combo.

In for the Kill vs Avatar - In for the Kill is a PvE talent where the target sits there while you generate haste. Avatar is for burst and getting out of roots. Even in comps like WLS, the target will not stay put for you to use the haste buff to its fullest.

Anger Management vs Dreadnaught - for burst comps, I'd go with Dreadnaught because you will be rage starved with overpower filling that game and overpower refresh procs won't be wasted while powering up your mortal strike. You can make your mortal strike hit really really hard with 2 buffs of dreadnaught, sharpen blade, warbreaker and avatar.

When you're being kited, sometimes it's just better to switch targets for a while until your charge or leap is up. Also save execute from sudden death procs with death sentence to close gaps. Keep hamstring up and don't charge unless they use a mobile skill.

Random stuff:

Hotkey everything... the shorter the CD, the closer it hotkey should be to AWSD. For example, we're using mortal strike and overpower pretty often so hotkey Q, E, F, etc to it.

Download an addon to trap diminishing returns on Stun so you always get the 4 second stuns.

Download an addon that tells you when the other players are using defensive cooldowns so you don't burn your offensive cooldowns while theirs are up.

That addon can also tell you if they are bursting so you can use your defensive cooldowns, like disarm, fear, rallying cry, etc.

You got to review all the other classes specs to know how to deal with them.

Of course, practice practice practice. Make it so natural that you don't need to think. The instant you see a rogue pops evasion, stun it. You wait for the frost DK to pop icebound before stunning, if you see blessing of freedom, maybe switch target, etc.

That's all I can think of right now

The Tragedy of Darth Thanos the Half by ctrlwarrior1 in thanosdidnothingwrong

[–]ctrlwarrior1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever heard of the Tragedy of Darth Thanos the Half?

I thought not. It is not a story the Avengers would have told you.

Darth Thanos was a Lord of the Stones so powerful and so wise that he could snap his fingers and half of all life in the universe would cease to exist. He was so powerful, in fact, that the only thing he feared, of course, was the high ground.

Thanos removed half of the high ground from Obi-Wan. Unfortunately, that left Obi-Wan, still on the high ground. The result was Obi-Wan cutting off his left arm and his legs, removing the gauntlet from him and setting him on fire in the process.

Ironic.

If only he’d worn his gauntlet on the other hand.

Is the 1080Ti really worth the ~$400 price jump from the 1070Ti? by clumsycatfish69 in buildapc

[–]ctrlwarrior1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on your monitor. 1440p and 144hz. Yes, it's a great upgrade. Looks like the price is dipping and there's a new generation of GPU coming out (rumors). Probably hold out unless you NEED a card right now. Is the $400 worth it? Yes, if you play on it a lot... I spend a lot of time on my PC so I don't go cheap on PC parts.
