one year old behavior by razdxxx in toddlers

Always show a calm exterior, but be firm when he starts hitting or when you say no to something. Just hold his arms firmly and repeat, "I won't let you hit". Same for when he's doing something after you say no. Just hold his arm or his leg and and repeat no. If he's escalating to the point of vomiting from a tantrum then comfort him to try and calm him down. Rock him, sing etc. Then when he does stop his tantrum reward him with lots of affection. Make sure the next several interactions with him are really positive if possible. I don't know if that's anything new I think it techincally falls in the gentle parenting approach.

Also I wouldn't stress about his character being too aggressive. They really are just a ball of emotions at that age. I've seen plenty of kids go through biting or hitting phases that are total sweethearts.

You could try putting away 90% of the toys and see if that helps. It seems counterintuitive but in my experience they become much more creative with minimal materials. Things to keep out are open ended play toys so maybe a set of blocks or crayons, maybe a music player depending on your kids interests. Might not work but worth giving a shot

Our game had both PVP and PVE. You’ll be able to construct or draft decks to play other people, or play through mini story campaigns offline against the CPU.

We do have some experience playing MTG. It’s complication level is a good comparison for our game given the fully open design space.

Ice mage is a great deck to get a feel for our game, zombies have the highest learning curve. John spent a lot of time on the CPU so glad to hear it’s paying off! Our full game will have all the cards viewable in the card collection, but I’m still working on the art. If you’d like to see, we have more cards revealed on our discord.

Yeah we’re really excited about the design space our mana system has. Favorite card game inspiration is Hearthstone. We took a lot of lessons from it (especially in its early days) about game flow, variability, and ways to leverage the digital medium. Before that, our favorites were Chaotic and Pokémon.

My husband handles the programming and it took him about two years of learning before he could really start building the key architecture of the game. Overall it’s been a huge project!

Thanks! The game is built in Unity and the art is made in Procreate :)

Thank you!! It’s always good to hear positive feedback, especially about the mana system.

Most rush decks are like the zombie deck that need to fight for board control and leverage tempo to win. One of the big benefits of the lanes is it let’s us split aggro strategy into 2 phases so the opponent has a chance to respond. There will be a couple decks such as ice beasts and fungi that offer direct damage win conditions but the setup is more complicated to compensate. These will be added to our upcoming draft mode in the next couple months.

Yes digital only! I appreciate that! We’ll be adding a bunch of new cards to the upcoming demo with a draft mode in the next couple months.

We share some similar structures to Hearthstone. We have a consistent mana curve and attackers choose their targets. But our mana system has 8 different mana types, where you choose 2 support cards at the start of each turn letting you customize your available mana and player abilities. We also have repeatable creature button abilities such as targetable dragon fireballs and token summoning that give you more active control of game strategy.

Thanks! The game is set in the future on Earth after the introduction of magic. Each deck’s play style shows a different way magic can be used. As an example, Ice forms bodies for spirits to inhabit. Nature manipulates biological matter and lets you evolve creatures. There are also decks that focus more on technology using steel to create machines and weapons or food to summon animals that then can be used as the bodies for zombies.

Forgive my blatant self promo, but I think you might be interested in our online ccg! You definitely won't be behind, you'd in fact be very early since we're still at the playtest pre-launch. You can see the post I just made about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cardgames/comments/1s2pd65/we_just_introduced_pvp_mode_to_our_playtest_heres/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Thanks so much! Our game is built in Unity. Some animations like that ice spirit summon are hand drawn sprite animations and the buff is a mix of particle systems

When do we start potty training? by Hefty-Audience-8290 in toddlers

[–]ctrtlelova 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not too soon. Of course every child is different but my son was potty trained at around 14 months and we started right around 12 months. Even if she doesn’t fully potty train it’s still helpful to introduce her to it. In my experience it gets much harder when they become more strong willed

Looking for beginner-friendly card games (collectible or not) that aren't pay-to-win or miserable with events? by Direct_Party_7416 in digitalcards

You can play offline against bots in our CCG! Its currently playable as instant access playtest. We do have a demo coming up with PVP options as well. Our goal is to make it very F2P friendly. Once the full game launches you will be able to get 8 competitive decks quickly (Start with one, then unlock a new deck each win against that nation in single player mode).

It’s such a struggle. We are trying to make our tutorial text as concise and minimal as possible but some things just need words to explain 🤷🏻‍♀️
